I assumed they went down with Rangers and Double Eagle, weren't they all on the same import licence?

Also, that other one in Alberta went down this year too... the special order one that makes models and imports props as well... Ah.... I'm sure some of you guys know the place.

As well as Canadian Airsoft and BC Airsoft Supply -- Both because of import problems.

THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING!

Want to know why retailers are closing? Guess who imported everything for them in violation of his issued licenses and permits.

This boils down to a simple case of someone being given certain guidelines to follow and they flouted them. Airsoft is not banned, customs is not shutting down multiple retailers. They don't have any stuff to sell you, THAT'S why they are closing the doors.

Rag on Peter Kang all you want, but look who literally drove airsoft in Canada? Without him, see what results.

Flawed logic. The reason we're in this predicament to begin with is BECAUSE of Peter Kang and his business practices.

Peter's been in trouble before, 3 or 4 times that I can remember. Seeing as hoe he supplied literally everyone at some point and did so for years, it's only logical that the authorities would start with him.

But what we see now is the trickle down effect.

Let's face it, if he was never around, half or more of the folks would not be on this site as they would have no guns and no reason to be here.

Most of the guns I've owned over the years have came by way of him.

Sure he imported alot, way more than his license would allow. But where did they go? to other retailers mostly, and then to our hands.

But that doesn't mean I ought to kneel down and suck him off. None of the new guns I've purchased ever came though him. As a result of his actions others are now feeling the effects, as he bit off more than he could chew. You think he would have learned after the third or fourth raid.

To call him the godfather of airsoft is fair, but that doesn't undo what's just happened.

If Kang is gone for good, where will the guns to supply the ever-growing market come from? I doubt new licenses will be issued, Mark is not going to want to end up like the others, nor will ASCA, so supply will be limited to what they want to risk bringing in.

I think the days of getting whatever gun you want are gone. You'll now have to wait for a special order, or take what's available and re-make it or live with it.

We had it pretty good up until now. But what has happened was inevitable at some point.

I think that new guys wanting guns are just going to eat up supply like we wouldn't have ever believed.

Whatever Kang has or hasn't done has both fueled and flamed airsoft in Canada. He walked the tightrope, made it happen, then fell.

If you thought guns were expensive before, wait.......

This is just getting fucked up, for those who keep spouting "The sky is falling" crap, shut it, its nice that you have great retail options in East and Central Canada, but for us folk who live out on the west...i don't know about the rest of you but with airsoft prices already sky high compared the the rest of the world, adding the cost of shipping from the other side of the continent and an almost definate hike in prices will make this already expensive sport almost fucking insane....i'm more than willing right now to spend $600/700 on a new AEG...but what if that price jumps to close to a grand!?

Sorry just a rant that needed to be vented....no personal offence meant to anyone in particular....just think we are getting the royal ass shafting out here in BC right now...

Um, no. If that were the case it would not be CBSA performing the raids, it would have been the local police or RCMP. CBSA enforces the Customs Act, not the Firearms Act. Peter Kang got busted because he is a greedy fool who figured the limit of three guns of any given type per shipment didn't apply to him.

I assume the other greedy retailers that got busted were fools too? Or are they just good guys that were raided for no reason?

It's not just him.
