I usually perform the 'Leroy Jenkins' maneuver when faced with a sniper. Charging out of cover, screaming my own name as a battle cry and getting everyone around me killed. And then I turn into a "zombie" and stumble around aimlessly.

Or if a sniper is putting my team under fire, I threaten to beat the shit out of him later if he hits me. Usually works. lol

Really, though...you gotta be damn good at picking out well-concealed people from a fair distance. While I personally rely on the fact that I can dodge sustained fire from AEGs on open ground so long as I have at least half a second to react, knowing what to look for goes a very long way.

Though, you might be looking for more of a squad based reaction and anti-sniper maneuver.

That may be a very interesting coarse.

The challenge for Brian will be to keep the inexperienced anti-snipers from crying.

My feeling is that the anti-snipers-in-training (with the exception of those who are experienced snipers) will get owned. It'll be a depressingly one-sided affair.

Thats exactly what I do, once my position is comprimised, I get the hell out of there, relocate and set up an ambush, and nine outta ten times, the section dont come chasing me. Once I dissapear into the woods, ive got my sights on whoever passes by me.

Hey, SC, you left out the part where you have to go back and pick up your rifle......haha, too funny.....I'll remember that for the rest of my life (and I think I'll have to bring it up on a semi-annual basis to remind everybody else, j/k).

isnt being a dedicated countersniper kinda pointless? maybe one in 15 confrontations in game are against a sniper. probably less. just arm your squad with limit-upgraded guns, keep moving and keep a sharp eye and you're good. a bolt action can only fire so fast and when you push a good volume of fire at a sniper and they choose to move, theyre damn easy to overrun if they're wearing a ghillie. also, hitting a moving target at long range (150ft) is tricky so if you move correctly you can easily get within long hose range and pin the bitch down without losing a man.

man, sniping was a fantastic challenge this m14 business is like a damn vacation.

That is something not new to me....I have been stepped on several ocasions, and on one ocasion surrounded by an entire OPFOR team, with some members coming as close as 2 feet from me........oh some members where on the lookout for me.....but failed to locate me.....and I was simply sitting down with my legs crossed under a tree with my back (ghillied up) facing away from the tree. I didnt take any OFOR out, but gathered very crucial intel for the team leader, and later managed to hold down a section......so even just armed with a BA, you can still do some "damage".....its how the team leader effectively employs his snipers and how those snipers apply thier tactics......it is not the gun that makes you a soldier it is how you employ the tactics you have learned that makes you one......and yes the better the equipmnent you have the better, but you can have a stock gun and still be more effective than one that has an upgraded AEG, it all comes down to how you execute the tactics....

Ya that too.......lesson learned......dont abandon your sniper rifle and go back to get it....

I'm refitting towards that with my CA36E by adding a tightbore, scope and shooting 0.23g....what the heck? Hey memel, you got a little something on your screen name...

Being a dedicated CS dosen't mean you only hunt snipers. As I understand it a CS can still be a line rifleman, however the have the skills and kit to be deployed against a sniper, should one appear.

In Airsoft it's mostly just someone with a hopped up AEG and a good eye. Being a CS dosen't prevent you from doing other things... except maybe CQB since its likely a CS Rifle will be far too hot for close engagements.
