what happens if you get caught with an AEG in your car at the border and you say you didnt know it was illegal? They will probably destroy the gun... but will they arrest you or something like that?

ONLY FOR INFO, i'm not going to take a chance...

In the next few years you may start seeing x-ray vans at the boarders. Then you won't be able to hind anything in your car.

The X-ray (and other scanning) units are already at some crossings. Seen them, I was impressed. And it's not only x-rays; they can scan for anything, even biologicals.

Flack... Gee, what happens if you get caught? For starters, you get to see them take your vehicle apart. And I mean APART. They dont have to put it back together.

Then you get to have a VERY LONG CHAT with someone in uniform who has no sense of humor. Whatever schedule you were on just went byebye.

What happens after that? Depends on how they feel that day and what else has happened elsewhere in the world to change the current alert status. Let's say you wont enjoy it.

Oh, good luck getting a decent job in the future. Your name gets flagged with at least a record of some sort, and it will show up to haunt you. Or you could wind up someplace where that wont matter for a few years.

The only difference between the US and the Canadian side (when they catch you) is how politely they will tell you how fucked you are.

Sounds scary and overdone? Maybe.

Does it happen? Yep.

Is it witnessed often? Nope, they at least try to be discrete and destroy your car in an enclosed area. It's the only nice thing they do.

So let's do the math; about $1000 of airsoft gun and stuff. Add $20,000 for the car. Add whatever fines they toss at you. Add the loss of income while you sit in a locked room. Add the extra loss of income from the jobs you'll never get. Do the math and decide if it's worth it.

Guess what? This shit can happen, and all they have to do is feel like tossing the book at you.

(Got to love working for the Government, you get to see documentation that's fascinating).

I know that the thousand islands crossing already has some sort of scanning device installed. Last year picked up a portable dvd player in the Fort Drum PX (a particular toshiba unit that I had been trying to get my hands on, and was sold out in Canada, they had stacks of them in the px) along with a copy of predator, threw out the packaging and put it in my daybag.

"Anything to declare?" gave him our reciepts, I decided to try my luck and not declare the player... border agent pops his head back in the window after a bit "and who's dvd player is that in the trunk?"

Stayed calm, talked my way outta it, guess since I was polite and there wasn't any hard evidence he let it slide...

It is the worst case scenario, but with some people's luck...

Did I mention the jail time and criminal record? Or what the latter means to the rest of your life after you get out of jail?

Given what Greylocks has just informed about, I don't see how anyone in their right mind would even take a chance with any of that shit.

The risks greatly outweigh the rewards when you look at things in a long-term perspective.

Just don't order stuff they will definatly seize like rifles, pistols, anything with fake bullets, silencers, granades.ect

mags without fake bullets, optics, mounts and gear while not complealty risk free should be ok 95% of the time.

anything past internal parts and maybe optics I would not try to cross the boarder with in my car because as mentioned above I don't feel like putting my car back together even if they do let me keep my airsoft stuff afterwards.

We're not discussing orders here, but smuggling. Orders are at your own risk (gamble). Smuggling anything is plain stupid.
