Don't ask me how you get ten years experience if your not able to work without ten year experience. It is Canada.
Good luck staying within the law on this one.
I beleive this reglementation applies only to pro film industry on par with technicians' trade unions. I don't think we have to go by that. (Well... I hope.)

As for renting, that's good, but we can't afford it and Airsoft looks real enough for our purposes. Airsoft is especially good where a reasonable amount of charitable souls own it and are potentially willing to lend it.

Israeli soldiers in the '87 intifada wore the standard olive drab uniforms with the wierd Israeli kevlar helmets and had a netting on it similar to WW2 american soldiers. They, at that point, were still using the A-10 Ephod combat rig and classically, the Israeli regular army uses the AR15 with a cut down barrel to the tune of 8-11 inches from the forward sights. Galils were issued about 2 or 3 per team of 5, so AR's are more common.
You may not like my opinion... there is a very simple solution to that: Close your eyes.

Left wing love for airsoft.

Film making is how I found out about Airsoft. They look very authentic with a little CGI. I'm going to guess you have to stay legal because you got a grant that requires it. I know it makes it tricky to stay on budget. I have never worked in Montreal so the laws may be different then BC. Call "MONTREAL FILM & TV COMMISSION LOCATION BANK" (Nick Barker (514) 8722883) they should be able to help you find your local requirements. If they have no information call city hall. Or do a little movie magic and film on private property and make it look like the city. Garbage is easy to come by.
