the other route is go super light... mp5 a2 or a3 or a4... mags are much smaller.

you can google red devil's airsoft for the directions. There's also an offshoot ottawa airsoft community over at www.ottawavalleyairsoft.com but I encourage you (as will others) to just come out and play first, rent a gun as well, the field has an array of AK rentals. Also if you ask nicely, most players will let you handle their guns so you can get an idea of what might suit you better. Also there's a variety of gear whores there like me that has a lot of kit, vs guys who have just started and all they have is a rifle and a couple highcaps.

edit:

This is my light weight p90 vest. The other one I have is not so light... it's like 3 layers of nylon and it's black... it looks so awesome in my stargate costume photos and other photos when I wear it on camo. It's not so great to wear in the 35 degree sunlight with 45 degree humidex. The black gets hot.

This specific model I think is the condor hydration vest. empty it's about half the weight of the standard molle tacvest from condor and it has an integrated pouch in the back for a water bladder. Imo it's better value if you want just a light vest.

On the inside I have eski double p90 pouches. ESKI are the only ones with molle on the front so that I can attach pistol mag pouches. You see how much room the p90 mags will take up, there really isn't much room for anything else on the vest.

On the outside are flyye single pouches in multicam. They fit much loser than condor pouches, and would recommend them over the condor if you get a p90. Or go with the ESKIs. The only problem with the ESKI is that they only come in black, tan, olive or woodland.

The p90 pouch actually hooks into 6 molle rows on the vest, but it hangs down over a 7th blank. So if each row and blank are 1 inch tall each, that's 13 inches of vertical realestate on your body that each p90 pouch till take up.

Not trying to scare you off a p90, but just know what you're getting into before you start spending the money.

In terms of eye protection there are some great deals on ebay for Revision Dessert Locusts. Some of them are surplus some of them are new...but I see them going for $20-$50. The Arena flackjacks you can probably get like 3 pairs for $50. There are also USGI Molle Vests going for $20, and you could probably find some good boots for a good price.

Like my friend told me after bringing me to Ultimate Airsoft, gameplay experience will change once you step into the field. I had to reconfigure my gear list after I bought my JPC, the plate carrier that I wanted and it works great for me. Tip? Try on plate carriers, chest rigs, and tactical vests. see which one will best work for you.

Hai, i am back and age verified as now.

As i could or couldnt tell, but rental AK at Red Devils. They shoot too wide for i could hit someone even at a barn. Anyway, it was tiresome lugging my rental gun anywhere. I belive i shouldnt skipped my leg work.

And as far i could think, there 3 guns i think i would love to have as my first starter gun :

- ICS L85 A2 Full Sized Metal ( i found at online retailer but they arent in stock, so even out of stuck they could be maybe ordered ).
- Classic Army Steyr AUG A2 Proline in stock.
- Tar-21, no sure which brand i can trust on it since i hear there massive trificera of massefuckery.

I got free full BDU, some free goodies at Red Devil Airsoft and it happen to be fitting me exactly ( small size ).

What you are thinking ? Or i should create a thread in Age Verified section ?

Thanks in advance ( sorry for being too polite here ).

Great that you enjoyed your first day out. I guess you figured out pretty fast that airsoft isn't like shooting real guns and accuracy is totally different more akin to muskets or paintball. This is why I'm a big proponent of renting your first time out that way you can kind of figure out what works for you and what doesn't.

I see you're still in the "I don't want an AR or AK" camp, but if you think it works for you then you do your own thing. Honestly I have no idea what's good in terms of developments after 2013-ish because I've been "chairsofting" for like 2 years but ICS and CA are solid brands, as for the Tar-21 Umarex/Ares is alright, I don't have the greatest opinion of them but they're alright (BTW S&T is an offshoot of ARES, not sure how it worked but AFAIK they used to be the same company but split off into 2 separate companies just like KSC and KWA).

L473ncy, havent you noticed a small detail in 3 guns i showed ?

They are all STANAG compatible ( aka they can use M4 Magazines ). L85 does have quick change spring, everything else petty special. I also think proprietary parts are dureable after hearing reviews and having done my research. This is how i ended with 3 guns i could think of.

- ICS L85 : Back heavy, quick change spring. Easy disassembly, just push out bolts keeping them together. The normal version seems to be preferred due the fore grip with bigger inside volume. And if you buy it, you will also get 2 High Cap Magazines. And it can use M4 magazines.

- CA Steyr AUG A2 Proline, this gun can use M4 mags with light modifications. Balanced gun. Proline is for a reason, guarantee of quality. Also bullpup with stock rails. Best externals and good or very good external ( havent checked this aspect ).

- Tar-21, according your suggestion. There a risk i could take if i gotten more information and details to problems. Also use M4 Mags.

This is all my summary of my research, there are bullpup for anonther reason : small size of myself. Since i am smaller than everyone else. I also needed a flexibility in the gun itself as well for CQC or outdoors ( FPS wise ), this is why i am leaning towards the ICS L85 or CA AUG A2, if you want, suggest me the G & G FN F2000 as well ( it also have quick spring change too ).

In the back of my mind they I know they all take STANAG mags but I was thinking moreso the exterior platform to worry about. Also I remember someone telling me about barrel length and accuracy and it was determined (from some quick back of the envelope calculations) that there were diminishing gains with longer barrel lengths and other factors come into play like stability of the gun itself because the BB isn't going that fast and jerking it after you pull the trigger could mess with the trajectory. If you're worried about carrying something unwieldly there is the option of a 10.5" ("CQB")M4 and if you want more length changing the barrel and flash hider to a longer barrel and covering it up with a suppressor.

Oh yeah, one more thing that I thought of which you wouldn't know otherwise but is something to consider.

If the gun takes "STANAG" mags it doesn't mean that it will accept all STANAG mags but doesn't mean that you can't modify it to accept it. For example the TM FAMAS which uses STANAG mags actually doesn't and you need to file down at the mag catch or the square where the mag catch sits and the front of the mag or inside of the magwell. The mod for the FAMAS is well documented. I also wouldn't recommend a FAMAS because of the V1 gearbox design so your choice of the L85, Aug or Tar21 are fine. Parts for the V1 are pretty much impossible to find but the ICS and CA are solid, I guess they're calling the CA "X-Series" the Proline now? Just make sure you don't get the CA Sportline, I remember it being crap (and for the price point the Sportline tries to compete at you can get something better for the money from a different brand).

Assuming the accuracy of gun is from mostly BBs of quality, the hopup and the tightness of barrel and the smallest barrel just after the BB stabilized itself and is about leave the gun's barrel. They sure influence on hits. However, high-quality stock guns might have small problem of it but still fixable.

For what the FAMAS, i am well aware and i wouldnt get it nor bother about it because this gun is so old, his parts are even impossible to find.

As for upgrades, i have try first the gun and see what this airsoft gun needs upgardes by shooting it and playing in a match.

if you thought the shorty AKs at RD were heavy, the l85 is going to be worse.

accuracy is in the tuning of the gun and certain components, length of the barrel has less effect than compared to real steel guns. We don't use rifling, our projectiles are spherical, so they don't auto gyro to gain stability from rifling. We get our range from the consistency (straightness) of the barrel bore, the consistency of the air charge and the quality of the hop applied.

Other smaller lighter guns you might consider would be an mp5 of some sort, either with the foldable or full stock. It's somewhat lighter than the m4 or ak. A g36C is also pretty short and most of the good brands available are pretty durable nylon fiber materials, not straight abs plastic. You're still looking at aroun 6-8 pounds for most guns though. Better start working out more.

A sling also helps take weight off your arms, so when you're standing around, you're not holding your rifle.

That's the problem, i need visit more the JT's Store and hold weapons for weight and i just tried L85 ( G&G -.- ).

MP5 is oddly fitting me, i might end up with a setup you might love in Half-Life Opposing Force : Adrian Shephard, through my size wont match the ingame character .

I will search more, also the workout is benifical for me for the future as well.

Now, i bought the rifle at OHP Paintball from a retailer ( gonna not telling the name, all age verified know this store ) a ICS L85 Carbine for 458 $ ( including the 0.28 BB bag ).

Now, so i want to be sure my budget is right ? Here the opendocument file in a compressed zip to avoid stupidly outdated file extensions ( who ever thought adding a opendocument file there -.- ).

I was checking about googles and the only i know that will fit on my glasses are ESS LandOps and then i found at 40$ shipping included but it will arrive late before the next game this week.

About for batteries :

Rhino 2150mAh 2S 7.4v 30C Lipoly Pack 10,00 $x2
Charging Safety Bag 2,00 $
Connectors Banana to XT-60 3,00 $
LiPo Alarm Card 5,75$
XT-60 Plus Female and Male ( 5pc ) 4,00 $
IMAX B6 25,00 $
Power Plug 14,00 $

I think i should just take one battery instead of 2 batteries, any suggestions on this battery part ?

There comes the second part ( boots, slings ), i am sure there a few boots worth to have for years to come. Bates, 5.11 ? The rest ? No sure.
For slings, feel free to help me finding a 2 Point Sling.

Thanks for helping me finish the Airsoft Loadout,
