Uh oh... perhaps you didn't notice this but you are fueling everyone's inner compulsive gambler. ASC has combined 2 expensive and addictive elements into the ultimate vice: gambling for airsoft.

I'll get some chairs in a circle, put on some coffee, and register the support group; I'll need to get a head start on this epidemic.

Hey Madmax I have a quick question for ya, You know how Propane sucks in colder weather, you dont get very many shots per mag fill, I was wondering how Duster holds up to cold weather??? I know in Paintball CO2 sucks and Compressed air you can use in almost anyweather(mind you balls not freezing) Sorry to bring up paintball here. Also is there an alternative for gas in cold weather besides an AEG??
Thanks Cody

On the OLD black and blue version of ASC there were comic strips, and one explained how to keep your GBBs and NBBs working well in cold weather

Are these adaptors long enough to reach inside a WA single stack 1911 mags? I hate how deep they are...

Duster is even worse in cold weather.

Gas pressure vs temperature:

http://www.pbase.com/airsoft_innovat...85134/original

The adaptors are quite long. Certainly long enough to get into WA Wilson combat single stack mags with the big bumpers. The adaptor provides just over 1" of extension from the tip of a can of duster. IRC, the valve on the combat mags is about 0.7" deep which gives you over 0.25" to spare. Lots of space.

it's been a while (read: last semester) since i did that science-y stuff, but im pretty sure it wont work as it is the nature of gases to decrease in pressure as temperature is lowered.

You can regulate compressed air down to pretty much any temperature you want. You just can't cram much of it into a magazine. Airsoft propellants are mostly stored in a liquid state which makes for a very high compression factor. Compressed air is normally used as an ideal gas which means no liquid phase. If you regulate it down from your high pressure storage tank, you only transfer gas which makes for a very poor compression factor if you regulate to a sane pressure which wouldn't blow open a GBB mag.

Unless you use a remote connection to a larger tank, you usually can't get much more than 3-4 shots into a GBB mag and each shot brings rapidly degrading performance (pressure drops rapidly with each shot).
