I'm not the parent police. I don't stand on a street corner preaching how to raise your kids.

No we are not airsoft police and we don't watch out for 'illegal' airsofters outside of the playing field. If they show up at the playing field, we should provide them with guidance and not to turn them away. If they show up with Scuba mask, just tell them that they need paintball/ballistic goggles to join the game. No one is asking you to provide them with equipments. What is the harm of them to point them to the right direction.

As for the parents, Don't they need to present to sign a wavier in order to get their kids playing?? That would be a good time to educate them about the sport and show them what their kids are getting into.. Without a place to play with their AEGs in a safe manner and to teach them the responsbility of owning AEGs, they will just use their AEG to harm their friends, family or little animals.

Type airsoft in google news and you will see how many teenagers get caught with airsoft in public. It all comes down to parentin but if a kid under 16 wants to play and his parents say its ok. I will allow him to play. Teenagers will complaing little kids are playing adults won't care. After the young child gets hit a few times by 415fps he will choose if he old enough for this game

Wow that was quite a read.

Personally, I started playing when I was in high school, maybe around 16 years old. My first "AEG" was a Firepower M4 A1 Clear Airsoft Rifle. A real piece of shit that lasted one "battle". After that I started looking around online for info on "softair" and discovered ASC. I read about the rules, and learned that 17- were not that welcomed. I still wanted to play, tho. So I got myself a Aftermath Kraken AK-47 and kept playing with friends in their back yards. I also started thinking of myself as "more mature" because I had read a lot online.

But jesus, I would never play with my past self. Safety and maturity is easy to have in theory, but put that "firearm" in someone's arms and it all flies away.

That was 3 years ago, and now that I'm on my own and settled I'm looking forward to getting back into airsoft. And properly, this time.

For those around here under 17 saying you are mature enough, I doubt your claims.

I've never met anyone younger than 20 who really understands risk and consequences.

A relative example is young drivers (Cars/motorcycles). Look at how reckless they are.

LOL omg, LMFAO

Really? I seldom meet someone in their early twenties I feel safe enough being around.
You know how many first time adult airsofter's will pick up a gun and ask someone else to start running?

I support all age airsofter's, They need a place to play, on that note I don't always feel every game need's to be all ages. Nor should someone be forced to play with all agers.
I believe they need somewhere to play.
The kid's will get the guns, if it's a POS Canadian tire gun or a 700 dollars gun, they can all just as easily take out an eye.
The difference in our province is Cuddy Commando's

The people running this group are more dedicated than any airsofter I've met as of yet, and they don't even play. Hell this season their own kid's are not even playing thus far.
Of course they have issue's, hit's not being called, people doing stupid crap, But that's nothing I've not seen in almost every other noob I've seen walk onto my field.

Giving them somewhere safe and secure to play. with controlled rules and strict safety is breeding us a new generation of airsofter's in this province. Who at the age of 16 hit XT and are responsible, or at the age of 18 hit their first ""adult"" game and are not a bunch of thud f**ks like most first time ""adults"".

Stating you've never seen a mature under 18 year old made me nearly spit coffee on my screen. I can very seldom find a mature 20 somethings.

The entire nature of our sport,"let's buy guns and shoot each other" draw's in the immature crowd. Most respecting adults with no knowledge or experience of the sport, whom are "mature" laugh at the sport and many don't bother to try it.
We definitely spend a lot of time each season weeding out the new thud's from the fields. many of them already "mature adults".

Please don't group all player's under the age of 18 in one group. I could very easily group 18-28 year old's into the exact same group from what I've seen.

I started playing at 16, and bought my own guns with my own money I earned. I have been shooting since I was 14, and Flying planes since I was 11. Now you can say you've met one. We are few and far between, but we do exist. I believe good judgement by the average player is the only real solution. Protecting fools from harm only provides an environment for breeding fools.

... and I've never crashed a car or gotten pulled over.

Let's bump this age limit up to 30. It's for the good of the sport.

What a joke this is? You know how many reckless old guys I've seen? Every old person I see with a factory tuned 'sports car' or roadwarrior grandpa I've seen with a V8 Buick trying to thunder down the road. Dude I've been in one accident and was put not at fault cause the 35 year old in a Mazda 3 couldnt wait at a stop sign while I crossed a through street.

I know 18-20 year olds that will drive circles around you on the track. As someone who has been in an accident and sees stupid people make stupid choices around him all day long. BTW I drive for a living at 19 years old. I have to honestly say. The stupid driving is far and not limited to young adults.

As for how reckless we are, guess how much youll wish it was a kid who wanted to drive recklessly when you get behind a grandma doing 20 under the speed limit cause they can't remember which turn it was to the supermarket.

Age and Experience may help driving, but so many older drivers have an ego that makes them act like they own the road.

I worked for 7 years in the local morgue, I processed way to many young kids that killed themselves and others doing stupid things. I will admit there were a few old farts and a couple from my current age bracket that did something stupid while driving and ended up coming to my office, but the majority were kids under 25. Thats why insurance is a bitch for any driver under 25. I myself did some stupid things behind the wheel, but growing up in the boonies on a farm I did them on my land not on the public roads.

I'm 31 in 25 days so I think the legal age limit should be 31. That way I'll have to wait and it's not unfair as well.

Now quit bitching and go play with your laser-tag guns. Oh yea... that's right... I went there...
