My first big milsim.

Being part of a 3 man team (Wildcard and Nierbee) vs 80 and wiping them all out, then to learn the rest of our guys were off comms, standing over the TAC BBQ in the parking lot.

Good times!

+1 to this. I think I've given Canada Post a few million hits in the past 2 weeks.

The very first airsoft game in paintball city, August 12, 1989 there were 12 of us (SD Unit crew & a few others) there were some paintballers questioning the management at the time on how come a bunch of crazy Asians were allowed using real guns in there?, shooting at each other and the infamous "Holy shit is that shit real??" question begins.

- OPCT1 and OPCT2

- Getting my boot chewed by a fucking Beaver in OPCT1, Naked man on the field at OPCT2, watching the Quebec boys in awe at our field kitchen meal set up at OPCT2 (MRE vs T-Bone steak, sausages and watermelon)

- Airsoft introduction to the paintball world at Skyball in Skydome, riding on Wilson's meat truck is an experience that I will remember till the day I die.

- Poncho's rage on a new WA SW40 vs tree

- Lynch's venture to a "not so deep creek"

- 1 month prior game time organization by phone

- $60/bag of .25 KSC perfects bbs during the shortage

Heart attack hill.

Well ok I actually hated the hill part but all the games at Rigaud have been memorable. From the first shoot the hostage ( hey that was me) to the battery less ambush to the last cqb run in the village area with pistols. Man those where the good years. Airsoft has not been the same since then. I miss the salamders, bad karma ( lots to say when you miss your own team) the atf ottawa boys, sd-unit and poncho and crew. All fond memories.

Wat. Why didn't you just order your own from outside the country? Or was this back when airsoft shops online didn't really exist?

back then (we are talking pagers and motorola brick phones are the hot shit era) it's either us (SD Unit, HotShot) or AMC or Peter Kang for your airsoft needs and back then if we need it immediately we have to airship it from HK that cost shitloads of money, if not it's a slow boat from HK and by the time it clears custom it's 1 month from purchase, Randy and the rest of the gang came in the picture a couple of years later

*Edit* ASC was still wiggling in Tru's pants back when I started, shit I don't think Tru was even born yet.

Wow, so many memories.

One of my favorites was an average weekend scrim. We had a team visiting that was just starting out. Mostly the 18-19 year old mark. Anyways we gave them some of our grenades to use, as a show if good faith. The problem is the grenade fuse last like 8 seconds.

So one of the visitors was trying to grenade one of our members on the second story of this building, by heaving the the grenades through this large double loading door on the outside second story of the building. Problem is, the fuse was so long, our guy kept escaping the blast radius.

So our commander walks over to this guy and tells him he has to cook the grenade s bit before tossing it. He takes a grenade from this kid, lights it, cooks it, then throws it through the loading doors. Just as our guy peers out to see what's going on.

The grenade bounces of his nose, and BANG! Goes off right in his face. Buddy was stunned for the next couple hours. Could barely stand.

One of the best stories I've heard, happened at one of the Keystone events. A few guys had snuck up on a sniper nest, or guard tower kind of thing. It was dark out, and they could hear a few guys chatting up top. They decide to lob a grenade up there to deal with them. The grenade hits it's mark, and goes off. Nothing but silence. Buddies pissed, because he knows he got them, so he throws another one. When the grenade goes off, the guys up top cry "hit, hit, were hit!", and come down.

What had happened was the first grenade landed in a pot of ravioli the guards were cooking, except they didn't notice. When the grenade went off it scared the shit outta them, and covered them all with boiling sauce. So they all just sat there staring blankly at each other trying to figure out what the fuck happened, until the second grenade hit.

My old teammate Gump during an ambush suddenly got up and start running like a man possesed screaming, swearing and dancing right in through the old flagraider marine base (first site), through the opfor defence, everyone was like WTF??? not knowing that he was afraid of snakes and a small harmless grass snake has crawled into his pant via a hole in the crotch (we were prone in the bushes waiting for Opfor) later on when he practically tore his pants to get the little snake out did we find out what causes the gump dance, we were all on the floor laughing our asses off at his expense.
