Anyone know what I need to a sling to work

I'm trying to figure out how to attach a sling to my HK416. I'm thinking of a 2 point sling and I know I can get a rail mount sling loop for the front. For the life of me, I can't figure out where the other end goes on the stock. Do I need to purchase something for this to work? I think I saw something that can go around the cylinder between the stock and the action, but is there any other way were I don't need to remove the stock to install? I also see some slits in the stock - are those related?

Removing the stock takes 2 seconds. Pull down on the lever, slide it off.

It really depends on where you want the sling attached. The slots in the stock can accommodate a nylon piece for a 2 or 3 point sling attachment. If you want to run a single point sling, you need to get a sling plate that attaches at the base of the gas tube, meaning you need to remove the stock to install.

3 point sling video:

A video where you see how the 2 point sling is fixed on the stock and front end:

And here you have a video of a 1 point sling:

First off, your HK416 looks like it has an LMT Crane stock instead of an HK416 stock.

As mentioned, either a receiver plate with some kind of sling attachment point, similar to:

or if you want to use QD sling swivels:

There's also an adapter you can install on the Crane stock for QD swivels:

Or get the newer Mk18 Mod 1 version of the LMT Crane, it has a QD swivel stud built-in (be sure to get the right one if you're using it to store an AEG battery):

Or you can also oldschool/low-tech it and run a loop of paracord through the slots and attach your sling to that.

edit: you might think that last one sounds Ghetto As Fuck, but it's the quietest setup you'll find.

+1 I recommend the QD sling swivel.
Here's a picture of what you can do with the paracord, either around the stock tube or through the slots on the stock. The big advantage of paracord is noise reduction, no metal or plastic parts hitting each other when you move.

+1,000,000 for paracord. Screw duct tape, gun tape and a spool of paracord can fix anything.

Paracord looks interesting. If I was to go the route of using the receiver plate, how does it fasten?

Remove the stock plate, add in the new one.
