To be honest. I was always going to get a higher quality charger and battery.

I was just really excited to use the gun for the first time and used what came with it.

Hard lesson to learn. Having said that , it was most likely me who screwed it up regardless of the battery or charger quality.

As far as the Battery goes anything by intellect is shit get a better quality battery and you will want to change the connectors to deans or the like.
I'll have to diagree with you there, Intellects are great batteries.

However yes he should throw the charger in the garbage.

It would be helpful if you stated the brand of the better battery. I've tried Elite cell mini nunchuck batteries b/c they're supposedly the best on the market yet noticed no improvement over the intellects.

Weird, the damage will usually happen at the short location. I don't think you pinched a wire, I think your plug was defective, possibly missing the plastic insulation between the positive/negative leads. The damage on the plug suggest arcing in that area.

Replacing the connection with a Deans plug might address the short, if nothing else was fried in the process.

Elite cells are just the "A" Graded intellect cells. For airsoft you don't really notice the difference.

ive seen at least a half dozen intelect batteries come across my desk and even owned a couple all either crapped out or were reverse soldered from factory. The QC on them is shit. I personnaly use G&P batteries, why who knows all i know is since ive switced no issues and the QC is great. Other Intelect issues i have come across is unable to charge or hold a charge ive even had single cells in packs cook off for no reason. Just sayin Personnaly i hate em, Maybey they have stepped up in the past couple years but i doubt it.

That's REALLY ironic, because my experience has been the exact opposite lol
I've used and seen lots of intellects with zero issues even after 4 years, but I've had a bad G&P crane stock battery, and a friend of mine got 4 bad ones in a row.
G&P has a high chance of having dead cells on their crane stock batteries. 6/10 2200mah NiMH crane stock packs that I've seen had issues after 2 games. And being charged on a good smart charger too.

Or are you talking about the yellow/orange/green GP batteries? Cause I had a GP battery for my G3 and it was REALLY good. But of course one battery doesn't speak for the whole brand

Funny thing is, all of the G&P batteries I've used are manufactured by intellect. Maybe they have better QC I guess?

Maybe they assemble them poorly?
Unless all the cells in your pack are fresh and manufactured on the same date, or at least balanced before hand, chances are you'll have a bad pack.
I had a guy at prairie battery add a cell onto one of my packs without balancing it first and it killed my pack after I used it.

Small connector, I suspect it was wired backwards........... was the gun wired for a small connector? Or a large one that required an adaptor? I know I see both halves of the small connector, but still.....

GP batteries...and G&P batteries are certainly not the same thing

I've had/used/still have lots of Intellect packs...nothing amazing, but ok.

With the mini plugs it's possible to have the plastic housing connected fine, but for the sockets/pins to pull apart from each other...especially if the tiny fins that hold them in the housings are not splayed out properly. That can create a lot of heat/arcing/shorting.

The mini connectors are also just marginally rated for what we're using them for....so if you've got a big draw, slightly bad connection, pulling a stiff spring, etc...it's entirely possible to overheat them. Might be ok...might not....lots of variables at play.

LOL...good one Stalker...yeah, backwards wiring (i.e. if you hook up the motor backwards, have plugs reversed, etc...), don't have a fuse, and goose it...things will get hot really quick
