No idea, it was on an M14 at Picton and the guy was hiding behind a desk/corner firing at me, was a big unit, looked older. I apologised and explained to him that if that's all I have to shoot at, then that's what gets shot at. He was a really level headed and cool guy, I could tell he was fairly dissapointed that his toy had gotten broken, but he understood. That's why I felt kinda bad lol, had he been a dick, I wouldn't have cared.

There ARE precautions you can take for NVD, cams and flashlights.
I replace all glass lenses on my flashlights with polycarbonate. This makes them pretty well indestructible!

I've destroyed a few things I've shot at in airsoft too, a flashlight, someone's kneepad (would have been cooler if he were wearing it at the time lol), and Amos' front handguard ring on his AK to which I still have the pieces lol

Like everyone said, if you don't want it getting shot at, don't bring it in the game.

That is why I make sure to have a kill rag PROMINENTLY displayed if I head into the bushes to take a leak. At night glowsticks front and back just in case!!

On topic, I agree with the sentiment that if you bring it on the field you have to expect that it could get damaged. Played at Op Pine Plains last weekend and the amount of Gen 3 NV equipment on the field was incredible, but no one bitched when it got hit. Don't know of any that got broken, but that doesn't mean it didn't.
