Volunteering for future games question

is there any chance of me volunteering for any future games and/or tournaments?
the thing is that my teacher gave me an assignment for Physical Education, to volunteer for helping out in sports, but i missed my chances because me other class mates took them. so i don't know anyone that needs volunteering jobs, so anyone can also recommend me some besides airsoft?
thanks.

For skirmish games, you can volonteer to be the man that has to run to setup the respawn flags for both teams. No one like to walk it in position prior to the game.

thats great to hear but i now require an Edmontonian's help
and do i need a gun? cause i read that a medic needs an airsoft weapon, and they can shoot back, and watched a video where a guy carries a camera and a gun as well, and when he got hit, he shoots back. (i think i read it in the CrapMart thread and BB bastards)

A "Medic" really isn't a volunteer position. This would be one of the players that would take on another role. As Fox_111 said you're best bet to get into a 18+ game would to assist the game admins in there duties.
If your really interested watch out for game in your area and contact the person who is setting up thus game. They will tell you if they need any help with anything and what you would have to do.

P.S. The guy with a camera is just a player with a camera mounted on his AEG

Dude! Have you ever heard of EASY? (Edmonton Airsoft Youth Group) I'm sure that you could help them out with games and whatnot, I'm actually surprised you don't play with them (or at least make it out in your OP that you didn't play with them). Otherwise I'm sure EAR would be accommodating in letting you marshal or something. Maybe a local PB field will let you marshal, who knows they always need people to marshal and will give them a few free entry tickets and/or a case of balls if you ref for a day.

Other than that I do believe you need to get police background checked if you want to volunteer at a Community Centre for sports. Possibly even if you're a High School student.

Really this is hard, are there any marathons or "fun runs" in the city? Try that, I got like 8 hours of volunteer time from volunteering for the Vancouver Marathon when I was in high school.

Man, if I could've gotten a case of paint for reffing for a day back when I played paintball, I would've been made! Lunch and field fee got paid for, and that was all good. 'cept that one time some renters thought it'd be fun to light up the guy in the reflective vest. I started carrying my marker after that.

One of my favourite things about airsoft.
1) Two thousand rounds of decent ammunition does not cost eighty-one hundred dollars.
2) Two thousand rounds lasts quite a bit longer.

Anyway, back to topic. Definitely check out the paintball fields. In my experience, there was always opportunity to get in as a ref and/or volunteer. The best days were when we got to help build up the field.

I don't usually hear of them getting a case of paint very often (and I think it's a case split between the refs so if there's 4 that's 500 balls each) but yeah field fee and lunch for reffing is common.

If I got lit up in the next match I would stand near the guy and yell to everyone else on the field that he's right beside me and point to where he is. Either that or when they're not looking snipe them with a pump marker in subsequent games.

@redzaku; Build up days are always good for volunteering and you get to see something getting built and your work is tangible once you're done. You can also cut back brambles, hardpack paths, repair walkways/bunkers/fences/boundaries, and other general safety maintenance on the field. Really there's lots of opportunities and always something to be done on fields.

Other than that, like I said marathon and fun runs are always good.
