Question Claybank 2011 - any word on the dates?

I'm planning ahead to next year, and a trip to Claybank, SK for Operation Mason Relic is an absolute must!

I need to schedule my vacation time very soon, so I'm wondering if anyone involved can reveal the dates for next year's event?

(BTW, I did pose this question on the event's forum, and I did email Al, but haven't heard anything back.)

Is there twelve hours sleep added in here? From toronto, in fair weather, 13-15hours will get you into Thunder Bay. Sleep in your car at the Terry Fox Monument, start the next day at 8am and you'll be in Claybank a little after dark that night. You pick up two hours of daylight going that way. That'll be roughly 37 hours.

37 hours non-stop and you'll be in Calgary on the Transcanada, or even over the B.C. border if you go Crowsnest Pass way. I made it from the B.C. side of Hwy 93 circa Radium Hot Springs to the GTA in 35.5 hours this august... solo. Although I wouldn't recommend it, it is possible.

Imho, the Ontario / Manitoba border to Regina stretch is the easiest, fastest and least police patrolled section of the 17 / 1. Just be careful round the Winipeg bypass loop and you're golden.

True enough Frank. That's the lesson I picked up on, after talking to guys who were at last year's event. If you're going to a major Op, be prepared for all forms of weather.

Just got an email from Al, and this is what he had to say:

"I'll be letting everyone know soon....not quite there yet...but soon."

So, no dates yet, but soon.

Torrential Downpour maybe??? lol. None the less I was totally prepared to be in the wind. The rain however I had nothing for. But the event it's self was worth it. And I plan on making the trip again. Our team is just planning like it's happening in may. Worst comes to worse we just bump our date back a bit.
