well border crossing is at a chance of a random search.. Really depends on the person.. I've only been stopped once in my life from crossing back and forth at Niagra Falls.... now what about the odds of beating it through international mail??? or are all airsoft guns found?

(only thing I ever really went overboard was on were 10 cartons of cigarettes ^___^ )

Border services is not perfect. Parcels do make it through. I would say the odds of a parcel making it through the mail successfully are less than those for a person trying to smuggle.

Neither method is recommended.

However you are welcome to try, after all its not like its my money your throwing in the garbage.

I'm guessing she could have gotten away with some stuff, since they didn't check her van and it wasn't all just alcohol.

When I was moving back to Canada we had the standard moving truck from Penske, loaded to the brim with arm chairs, a couch, two fridges, computers, boxes, bins, some tools, etc. They didn't stop us to check everything inside, they didn't even open it up, they just asked for the inventory of the tools we were bringing.

-_- really...

4 years ago, not really knowing what airsoft was, I brought back from France a KWA M9 in my luggages. Not one problem. I was lucky. Thought now knowing a lot more about laws and such, I wouldn't take any chance. Then again, I'm a very careful person.
What I'm trying to say is if you try ( i do not condone this act), and shit goes wrong, assume. If you're not capable of that, then don't try; simple as that.

And that's what I figured. I knew that they could easily search you, but I just thought something was different.

"what is stopping you from doing the same thing with firearms, drugs, people ect ect ?"

Firearms, first of all, are a lot harder to acquire than plastic shooting toys. They also cost more, making it more logical to import in larger quantaties. Larger quantaties=harder to hide... you did not ask about importing you asked "what is stopping you from smuggling airsoft in"

People, simply are identified with just that; identification. again you are talking about illegally bring something across you do not ID an illegal person

And drugs are already being imported. You only hear about the very small percentage that actually get siezed.and this is the reason you think you can get away with smuggling airsoft right?

For those of you that actually helped, thanks. I knew that you'd get in shit if you were caught, I just wasn't sure exactly how you would. Now I know that it's pretty much the same thing that I thought before. Thanks.
being 15 you really should stop trying to think of ways to get airsoft illegally if you did try this and got caught do you think they would just say "oh well he is just a minor" and let you go or charge the adult with you?

I don't understand why you're coming at me so aggressively. I'll say it again, I have no intention of doing this, it was just soemthing I wanted to clear up.

Cross the border 19 times with prohibited stuff, be it airsoft or not, and don't get caught = 'this is easy, I should do this more'
Cross the border with prohibited stuff and get caught = criminal record, inability to get a passport = NEVER being able to leave the country again.
Smuggling is federal offence and carries federal charges, minor or not. This will apply to both the driver and the person that the goods are tied to.

Don't believe me? Keep trying it until you get pulled over and see what happens.

9.5 times out of 10 when a person creates a thread like this its not because they want to clear things up, its because they are researching more information on something they intent on doing.

Fair enough.

And to be honest, I could care less what you think of me. This is the internet, and I don't think I'm going to loose sleep over a random e-thug calling me an idiot.

And once again, thanks to those of you who actually contributed to this thread. Appreciated.

Rokor, I never said that you smuggled anything. I never assumed that you had. From your original post, you certainly stated that you were 'wondering what's stopping Canadians' so I told you what's stopping Canadians.

This may be the internet, but airsoft in Canada is a small community. Best of luck.

Hey kid, this community is very pro legal means of obtaining things and VERY against illegal means.

Also you answered your own question, smuggling ANYTHING is illegal.
