got a question about m14s

Hey guys ive been falling for m14s alot lately an im just wondering what your opinions are on a good m14 to start off with. im not looking fr any help with purchasing it (im getting avd on friday) i just looking for techinical info and opinions. ive been looking at the tokyo marui m14 and the g&g m14s. ive heard both good and bad about both and vice versa so it gets quite confusing. any ideas on these guns or any better options out there??

From what I've heard, TM and G&G are the best brands. I think TM has more upgrade capability, but there's nothing wrong with the G&G if you know a source for parts. Stay away from AGM, Kart, etc...

G&G is not a good M14 brand.

TM is pretty much the only way to go.

There is no aftermarket support for the G&G's

The Classic Army one is the same G&G system.

I've worked on every different M14 you can think of (except for those JAE ones). I'm giving you an educated opinion.

TM hands down, Ive handled both, worked in both, TM all the way, much better. The G&Gs are nice looking, but the bolt only retracts half way, why, who knows. Also, the system for locking the mags in is retardly annoying, you've got to fiddle with it until it looks in. Though the G&Gs have a wicket system for the motor, it pivots which makes it way easier to remove the action/mechbox from the stock.

I'll toss my hat in for the TM pile.
However I would also like to suggest looking at G&P as an additional option.

One gun TM ranks highest in. Second would probably be Echo 1 as they'll be the most TM compatible.

G&P started off making upgrades for the TM M14...

They eventually made so many they just made their own gun.

The G&P M14 is an "upgraded" TM M14

(not informing T7 of this.. I'm sure she already knows all this stuff, just letting out some general knowledge )

having being faced with the same decision you are many years ago. i can safely say that if you get a TM you will NOT be disappointed.

upgradeability, aftermarket support and general simplicity and reliability make the TM M14 the best bet for you money.

Get a stock TM M14, and upgrade it as you go. stay away from the G&P. Its too powerful for you if you have never played airsoft.

Lastly, DONT get an EBR.

ya, 13lbs for a airsoft gun is really heavy.....if your a woman.lol jk.

but seriously, my EBR is awesome now that its upgraded, but still, 13lbs is too much for smaller builds.
