Question Hi capa race guns --IPSC only or other uses?

Hey guys, please don't flame lol. I don't post much because I search and search and pretty much just read threads.

I was wondering if people who build race use them for only IPSC or related target practice? Is it an unwritten rule that they are only used for target practice and unmodified or close to stock hi capas are gamed?

I just figured that race guns are too nice use in a game. Am I wrong or do people actually use them outside of competitions and target practice? I'm interested in build one or buying one in the future. I would not use it outdoors because I only play indoor cqb. So to sum it up--- race guns, perfect or impractical for cqb? Other than protecting the rds, I wouldn't mind if the slide or gun had an nicks etc, I am very careful with my guns.

Any insight would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance

You can use the guns as long as the fps of the gun is within the rules of the field your playing in.

you could totally use them for outdoors, indoors is another issue.

Some race guns are built for higher power which exceed the indoor fps limits, so they can't be used.

Other issue is purpose built race guns decked out to the nines tend to have a lot of things on them making them extremely hard to skirmish. A lot of accessories will get caught on gear easier, and its next to impossible to find a holster that will hold the gun properly without either damaging it, or make it really easy to lose when you're on the run.

I know MadMax has a pistol which he uses for CAPS, but is only moderately modified so he can use it for skirmishes too, while others like myself have pistols which are strictly built for only target shooting.

I used my Capa in a couple of games, but I had to swap a few pieces back to stock to get it under my local limits.

if you mean "race gun" as pistol with rds and comp the biggest issue would be finding a holster. Even if you did miraculously find a large enough holster, race guns often have extended mag releases which a soft holster would engage constantly. Ipsc holsters (the ones that go into barrel and hold on to trigger gaurd) I dont know much about but dont look like they do much in terms of protection.

Unless you plan to run pistol only in which case that would be fine

"SNIPER" is NOT a gun. It is a person. Saying "I use a sniper" is like saying "I fly a pilot".

IPSC styled holsters should be easy to integrate to existing equipement, but they are designed for fast draws to I wouldn't trust the safety too much.

Regular hard holster would work after some dremel work, mostly to enlarge the parts covering your controls if they are enlarged and the top removed if it interferes with the sights.

I play at xtreme tactics, indoor cqb only. Sometimes i use more than one gun but mostly i just game one at a time. So other than holster and fps limits---350fps here, is there anything i should be aware of? Thanks for responses so far guys!!

There's a Sri Lankan special task force, formerly trained by the SAS who has the point man running with an all out open division tricked out compensated race gun with Cmore optics red dot sight as his primary weapon. The idea is faster target acquisition and engagement.

So if you were so inclined to, you wouldn't be TOTALLY out of place running a silver race gun as your primary in military garb... unless you were running a navy seal team loadout or something. LOL

I game my capa often, but the only thing "racy" about it is the flared magwell, my gun set up for standard division tho, not open division with the comps and optics etc.
