Mohs of 8+, tetragonal structure, and needs a diamond media to polish, plus $2+ a shot...please dont tell me you're making Cubic Zirconia rounds!

WOW. There are some 100% right answers here.Very impressive considering the few details we supplied.

I will let Jay crown the winners however.

In regards to acurization. There is still allot of testing to do, but we are looking at this process to make a 100% consistant spherical diameter. This means we can let snipers take a round that used to AVERAGE 5.95 and replace it with a round that is ALWAYS 6.01 or 6.02.

This plays on the generally accepted idea that a tighter match between the BB and the barrel (up to a point) equals more accuracy. At this point we don't know what the effects of reduced blowby might be, or the changes in how the BB moves down the barrel (less bouncing, more spin imparted from the barrel itself etc), so much testing is on the way.

In regards to price. Most snipers I know who really embrace the role don't toss too many rounds in a game anyway. I, on the other hand, burn through and entire bag of .30s in a game easy. So the pricepoint is relative to your style of play.

These actually have me interested in sniping for the first time ever in my airsoft career. And I am a full auto FTW kind of guy LOL.

Its not Cubic, cubic is transparent, but there is an industrial grade ceramic equivalent we've applied to this.

I have a carbon doped versions (again, perfect lattices internally) with several other substances that give us weights ranging from .34 to .43 that we can use for in-field sniping. Pricing is again around the $2 a round mark.

lordnordeth, PM me your emailing address, I'll send you a bag of your Bastard choice.

Hmmm ... definitely interested by the time these come out they may work with a custom gearbox a friend of mine is looking to put into mass production.

Unless I find that 1G Steel BBs are more fun to shoot.

Oh for sure, probably sell them in threes or something. The tuning kit will come with 10 most likely.

Yes, indeed you did, but I was looking for the material. It was fairly easy to guess it was ceramic, just looking at the polish and the hardness - the only other guess would be granite. But I was waiting for someone to come up with zircon.

Materials cost is the issue that I see. You could make BB's in the 0.5-2.0g range but the cost of manufacture and the materials are going to be rather high, and then there is the issue of field owners allowing those BB's to be left behind on there property.

There was quite a bit of resistance from a field owner with having aluminum BB's left behind on his property and in the end he just gave up and didn't care since there was so much lead left behind from pellet guns and recreational shooting.

For Hardball play .43 is probably too light for 2/3 of the guns. If we hardball players where willing to drop 100-150 FPS than .43 is quite adaquete

No issues there, bio-inert, no toxins. Like the Silicas, they're basically rocks.

The ones pictured are .66g. I have other ones in .36g in another carbon based material that is black. I'm also having test versions made in 6.00mm to see how they run.

Fill up a king shell for only $408 dollars, and then go pick them all up after you pull the trigger, giggling and crying at the same time.

That would be the only time the ammo would cost more than what shoot it.
