Places to play for a noob in Manitoba?

So I bought a gun from cabela's and some other stuff, now that shootin in the backyard is getting boring. I would like to find some places to play outdoors, and really don't want to play hardcore stuff.

First get AV'd. You need to be 18 and over to play at most fields.

2nd, Just play skirmishes outdoor. Shouldn't be too "hardcore".

Depends on what you call "hardcore".

Hey! Check out the Manitoba Airsoft Association . We play every weekend, from basic scrims to organized Op's.

Sign up on the forums, PM Amos either here or on the MAA forum. You'll have all the airsoft you can handle.

Since you neglected to state your actual location you would be hard pressed to get any information. Luckilly I just happen to know that there is only one Cabellas in Canada and that its in Manitoba.....and plus I traced your IP.

You may wish to start your journey here:

Actually, you might want to check out this one site called http://www.lowshots.com/. They have a lot of useful information about airsoft guns and gear and all sorts of stuff. Plus, at least twice a month, they all get together and airsoft. All ages are allowed so no one can tell you that you cant airsoft just because your under 18. Its for all ages. The games aren't always in one place either so you get some variety on the type of terrain you play on. Just make an account on there, check out all the threads and try to come out for some games.

I can tell where you are from

You did say the middle of Canada and that is just a little east of Winnipeg.

You would be most welcome to sign up on www.lowshots.com

You don't need to be age verified because it doesn't matter to us. We believe in judging a persons abilities based on their abilities. We have no age limit.

There are a lot of fields to play at and games are frequent. We play nothing but Mil Sim and use innovative rules. All games are objective based missions grounded in realistic scenarios. We are the ultimate father and son outing.

We are a not for profit member run group dedicated to youth in Airsoft. We are putting the toys back into the hands of kids. We have over 60 years of combined Military, Police, Medical and Technical experience in our Adult members.

My name is Baldwin, I have been in the CAF for 22 1/2 years in this contract and I am Lowshots.

Wow.. thanks for the quick replies... I will try to get verified, and it will even be better that I can have a place for my kid to get involved and play as well.

If you want to play with a kid at some event, or if you want a parent involved, your best bet is probably going to lowshots. There is no age limit, some adults have some military training so you know the games will be exciting with them running it, and with the multiple different playing fields, (Plus their way bigger than the ones at XT) you get alot more variety. Plus it's free, so you dont have to pay for anything. At XT, you do. To me, it sounds like Lowshots is the best choice here...

Quite simple. We don't limit the airsoft guns, we limit the engagements. It is a standard rule that younger players receive a less aggressive approach and have distance limits for engagement. The 500 FPS you may have seen is just a standard limit in respect that their must be a limit of some kind. Kind of like the neighborhood football game. Big guys might take it out on each other but we don't abuse the little guys. We are there for them to have fun.

We have rules that make sense such as the mercy rule. Many games employ the situation where mercy is called and if not complied to then shots are fired. At Lowshots in respect of our lack of age restriction if mercy is called, its a done deal no negotiations for safety reasons. We actually have a lot of rules like everyone else does. We just don't have an age rule. Parents decide if kids can try to play, the adults running Lowshots decide if they get to continue. Obviously age will come into play for some players. Some just won't be mature enough. We had one like that and I think he turns 18 in a few weeks

Personally I think that 10+ is a bit low of a lower bound for age limit. Really it should be at least 14+ but that's only my opinion.

Also I do agree that some minors can be responsible but... hell, I would not trust my 12 or even 15 year old self with paintball or airsoft (maybe my 16/17 year old self).

Really it's just a few "kidiot" minors that ruin it for everyone else, the vocal minority if you will. I would much rather have a blanket moratorium on minors playing and after a review and few "test games" (with parents in safe zone or playing alongside them (it shouldn't be a daycare, while parents go out shopping or w/e)) allow them back without parent supervision.

But I guess AA, Lowshots, and "EASY" group provide a good transition to jump from in regards to playing with the adults.
