Gas Mag Storage

Yes I have researched this question and come to the conclusion that it is better to store mags with some gas in them. Supposed to keep the seals from drying out and cracking.

Here's my question: I just received a second mag for my MK23. It has never been used, however stupid me took it out of the plastic wrap. I will have no need to use it until next season. If it has never been used, should I still put some gas into it for winter storage? Obviously new mags are stored for long periods after production without gas in them and they have no problems. Is this because they are in sealed bags? Could I store this in a zip-lock bag for winter rather than put gas in it? Would this also work for previously used mags? Anyway thanks for your help.

What riley said... drop of lube in the fill and release valves, wait a couple minutes, and then give it a tiny shot of duster.
