KJW MK1 Carbine - Sniper??

Does anyone have experience with this gun? Would it make a reasonable sniper weapon over a spring gun???

Uhhhh...it falls under the category of "Gas Pistol"......so I wouldn't think that it would replace a sniper...

Nope. The guns shoot unreasonably hot. Ontop of that, its terribly inconsistant, and the chances you can get one that actually works right is nil.

The benefit I see is if it is accurate and capable it share the same magazine as the pistol version which would make a great secondary.

You are correct is is listed under 'gas pistol' however I think its fair to say its not exactly a traditional 'gas pistol'

Terribly inconsistent. Now that what i needed to hear. That alone makes it a bad candidate.

They are a NBB, so it's REALLY easy to get one that works correctly....not that much that could go wrong with them really.

Tom you should have asked me about this gun, I had one, couldn't use it as on a 20 degree day it was shooting 510+ fps with .2bb's. Range wasn't bad was getting 100-120ft accurately, but the hop-up on it was a pain to set. Even had just the regular MK1 pistol, that was doing 380fps on a warm day, and one guy on the field said that even at almost 100ft away he could hear the bb's from it zipping by his head.

I had the MK1 both the pistol and the carbine. It's quite interesting because they both share the same magazine. Here's what I notice

Good:
Easy to access hop up(unless you place scope on over the whole on the rail)
Extremely light(My scope weight more than the gun)
Extremely easy to take apart/unjam/clean
Easy to adjust FPS(I can tell you how to lower it to exactly where you want it to shoot on Green Gas,both pistol and carbine)
Extremely quite(If you home make a silencer with form, you won't hear it being fire past 50ish feet)


Bad:
Inconsistency(100-125 feet is ok then after 150-200 it tend to get really iffy. My always curved to the left 2/5 shots)
Magazine badly design(long so it won't fit most pistol pouch and bb can fall out if not careful)
O-ring on bottom of magazine tend to fall out quite easily after filling gas(I've been told they're easily replace at piercing stores)
Magazine are easily maintenance(only read of reviews, never done it on my own)
Really cheap to get the magazine and if any parts breaks just get a new pistol and put parts in the carbine(same system)
No upgrades(you can mod the carbine to make it good, but it'll never compare up to a BA)


Heads up:
To get good consistency you'll have to shoot once every 2-3 sec for the magazine to 'warm up from cooldown time' which would affect your accuracy.
I find my pistol shot almost the same distance compare to my carbine.
In the end, I gave up and traded the carbine away.
