Western Arms Vreaker 12 SCW W/ Para Ordanance lower

Howdy folks, I'm looking for some guidance. I just picked up the above mentioned, well used GBB. I would like to know what kind of metal slides will fit on this thing? and has anyone made there own flow reducer while running the stock slide with propane? I'm also having a hard time tracking down some double stack mags any help much appreciated.

Is it a Magna design or SCW?

If your hammer strikes a round
cylinder pin then it's magna. And
then your search for upgrades
is going to get hard. If it's SCW1
(hammer strikes a slotted square
pin) then you can use any metal
slide for SCW.

The Para series can use their
mags and any HiCap SV mags.

Search US stores online, and HK
shops. You can find para mags
in the US, Para slides, SV mags
and other metal bits still in HK.

Post pictures with the slide off
and blow unit / hammer pin
exposed and I can help more.

Yes, it has the small firing pin so it's the Magna design.

SCW1 also has a small firing pin,
it's just looks like a rectangle from
the back that slides into a slot cut
in the hammer. Magna have a
skinny cylinder pin hammer side
and a fat cylinder head that strikes
the mag valve.

Talk to Madmax on how to take a
metal washer, drill a hole and stick
it in the nozzle if you want to run the
plastic slide. Propane will break that
Vreaker slide in a hurry, if it's the
ported kind. Older WA plastic is a
mix of metal powder and abs to give
it weight, looks and the feel of metal.
But that also make the abs weak.

I've got an old WA 6" Infinity SV, magna (from your explanation of what the difference is, this has a small cylindrical pin that the hammer strikes, that gets fatter where it strikes the mag valve). So basically, getting an upgrade slide for this will be nigh impossible? Especially because it is a 6" version?

I looked at most of the online shops
and only could find SCW 6" slides
available. They're very hard to come
by now for the old magna pistols.
Even the re-release of the Magna
SV's for IPSC caused some metal
slides to be made again but they
sold out rapidly on UNC...

There are still some Magna 5" metal
slides kicking around on various HK
and US sites, but it's slim pickings
and most of what's left are the very
expensive old Sheriff and SD ones.

I was thinking of buying that SV6
you purchased recently, but gave
up after I couldn't locate a metal
slide for it. Another option, is to
use a 5" slide and cut down frame
but keep the long barrel system for
more fps/accuracy. Will look like a
Bob Chow Wilson— extended barrel

I have not measured the slide yet but it is the Wilson Combat double ported. I believe it's 5" The 6" looks longer judging by the pics I found of the SV6's.

I spoke with "Achanman" and he seems to know the history of this gun which is cool 'cuz he lives like 10 blocks from me. If anyone hears of any metal 5" slides or double stack SV or Para Ordanance mags floating around within Canada please let me know. I'm really happy to have picked this gun up, I'm a big 1911 fan!

Same goes for a 6" Infinity metal slide... Even though the chances of that ever showing up are extremely slim :P.

Well, you can always commission Illusion
for a CNC'd, custom aluminum slide

Kudos!!!

Kudos go to ACHANMAN! What an awesome guy he is! Walked me through the gun and explained a bit of it's colourful history. Torn it down, he saw it was missing a part and actually had a spare that with some teamwork we made it work. Very cool!
Thank you ACHANMAN!
