Air Seal Problem

Need Help!!!
Recently purchased a tightbore barrel and installed it, but now the compression has gone out of wack. Gun was shooting 308-315 but now is shooting 230+(hottest being 280). Only way to fix it is if i hold the Hopup unit and gearbox together.

Found an aritcle on the airsoftpacific about an Air seal problem with an SRC G36. One of the responces by a gentlemen Cain(Alias) was "You don't need to replace any parts. The SRC chamber is just a little too big on the inside, so there's a huge air leak. I solved this problem on my SRC G36E fairly easily.

Grab a roll of teflon tape, and wrap the outside of your hopup bucking and barrel with it until it fits snugly inside the hopup unit. Make sure that the actual hopup cut isn't covered with the tape, as that'll negate your hopup entirely. Gently put it back into the hopup unit; if it is a snug fit, this is good. Just be very careful not to bunch or tear the bucking.

This should eliminate your air seal problems.

There are other inherent problems with the SRC hopup unit though, but again, those can be solved fairly easily. For example, the hopup arm that holds the nub is just a bit too small, and tilts inside the unit, causing uneven pressure on the bucking, and causes shots to veer in one direction. Easily solved with a little epoxy and some sandpaper. Just put the epoxy on the sides of the hopup arm, let it set, then gently sand it down until it fits snugly in the unit."

The AEG is a SRC AKS-74U. Any Help on how i would fix my AEG's Air seal would be wonderful.

Thank You,
Scott

Get a new hopup chamber?

And what you're talking about isn't compression (piston and cylinder), it's airseal.

"finding a new G-36 hop up chamber" can be a pain.

The only one thats widely availible is that blue CNC one airsoftparts.ca sell, and ebairsoft cells a clone of. I could never get mine to work, eventually broke down and bought an E-1 unit from airsoft GI.
