short answer, yes and no.

slightly longer answer, depends who you listen to!

what's your technical abilities? WE are not typically out of the box ready to shoot. not that they aren't but some models take a bit of work. all will require a pre-shooting clean and lube!

Which model are you looking at. Their M1911's are decent, their M9's I am not too impressed with.

For GBBR's they seem to need some upgrades to be reliable.

Do you want to know about WE pistols or WE GBBRs?

That sounds about standard for the pistols. Heavy, potmetal parts. I've shattered a WE 3.8" 1911 slide by dropping it onto concrete.

seems like you kinda answered your own question.

WE.. Pistols, I know a few people who have owned them and had trouble free service from them

Others.. failed in short order.

I own 20 WE GBBR and not a single WE pistol

In my experience...

Their Hicapas are inferior to the Maruis which they're cloned from. I sold mine, wasn't impressed at all.

Their early 1911s had a design flaw (recoil spring guide was too long) which caused some catastrophic failures and earned them a bad rep: if corrected (and later/current models have fixed the problem) I've found the gun to be an extremely reliable workhorse, although some minor upgrades help (but in all fairness, Marui and other pistols also benefit from these types of upgrades). I've owned several and am very satisfied.

The paint/finish, however, is horrible. So either you'll have a gun that looks like it's seen quite a few fights (that's not a bad thing per se) or you're going to have a re-finishing job on your hands.

Haven't owned their Berettas but from what I've heard (from sources I can trust) they're lackluster at best.

I have one of their M4 GBBRs and so far I like it a lot. Is it the absolute best GBBR out there? Probably not. But for the price it has the best bang for the buck. Again, some upgrades help (or are required, like the NPAS to reduce the velocity) but that's true of most guns.

First off, it's never a good idea to buy a hi-capa with a plastic midframe the screw hole gets cracked easily, then there's the WE factor. Their capas are ok, but little things like the valve-knocker disconnector have been known to snap in half due to being made out of crappy metal, when it comes to hi-capas TM all the way, unless you're rich and like tracking down hard to find parts, then get a WA
