Eotech 552 solar charger Mod

http://lytonics.com/

Just browing pictures for the 552 and ran across this funny little item
I wonder how praticle is it, I would imagin its nifty to have in long milsims

But AA is pretty easy to come by but I guess its nice to just leave the battery inside the scope is pretty good.

Little further down they have a crane stock solar pannel as well

I've been running the same set of AAA's in my HurricanE 553 for probably around 20-30 games, still going strong. Real holosights last even longer. Don't see a point in solar charging for airsoft. Its much easier to just carry a spare set of batteries with you.

That about sums it up, I'm just showing what I found lol

kinda neat, now if they make one that can recharge our AEG battery reliablely then I would think about it.

Very neat idea and quite practical, but good lord, you know how many AA batteries $100 USD would buy you?

If my life were on the line and I was counting on my sight to be on this would be a must-have mod. If the greatest concern is I miss and have to walk back to respawn, I think I'd rather buy two dozen AAs at Walmart for $5.97 and spend the rest on BBs. I'd also be very concerned about BB strikes against the panel.

Nevertheless, a great technology demonstrator.

See, I think I would rather go with the AA solution.

What if something goes wrong with the connections from the Mod, it surely cant be as durable as the original construction.

Is it as water proof?
How long will the battery work in low light situations, will I be able to switch the batteries if need be.

The lifespan of most Eotech is well worth keeping the original set up.

If I was doing this for real, then I would just make sure I swapped in new batteries before each situation, no biggie.

Yeah don't think there was mention on anything about water proof and efficency of the panel,

Does't AA on 552 last like 200 hour

You can buy an awful lot of batteries for $100... should be painted "green"
