Black Hawk Down Snipers????

The two snipers that land at the second crash, is one of them using a M14??? It looks like it but my friend says its a m82 or something but he insists its not a m14

Thanks

If it's a GIANT gun... it's an M82.

If it's not.. it's an M14.

It is an M14, An M82, are you fucking kidding me? You best slap your friend upside the head. The M82, is a .50BMG rifle.

Oh your local, Can I slap him?

Tell ya what.... beat your freind over the head repeatedly with each rifle. After a while he'll be able to tell them apart.

Actually what I always wondered is whether Shughart was using an M14, or an M21/M25 (regardless of what was used in the movie)

M something?

beat him with something heavy....

M60 is a machine gun, M60 is also a tank. M1 Garand is a WW2 rifle, M1 Carbine is a ... carbine... every (or almost every) single US weapon is Mxxxxxxx ....

The gun he used IRL was a M14, not an M21. Possible that he used an M21 in the movie though.

If all of can read well read the M21 page post above and and says clearly:
n 1991, the military updated the M21, primarily by the addition of a McMillan M2A bedded stock and designated it the M25. These are still in use by various Special Operations units. One might note that one of the two Delta Force snipers, Gary Gordon, used one of these rifles during the rescue of Michael Durant during the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993 and is also portrayed using one in the movie Black Hawk Down

M21 is outdated. Remember, that was Deltas in the chopper. Seals has it right, it's an update to the M25 (I do believe so).

The army in general had their rifles replaced in '88 with the M24 SWS (Remi 700, basically).

not one wanting to argue with everyone but im pretty sure its an m14.. had a Dragon - 12'' Black Hawk Down Sniper set. (pretty much a really cool looking GI Joe) and it said it was an m14 on the box... so im going with that.
