VFC HK 416, need some knowledgable info

Ok i've been doing some reading about this but i'm going in circles. I dont know anyone who owns this but i'm planning on purchasing one shortly. I have a few questions that i can't figure out.

1.What difference does it make if its the D or DX model? Just being able to swap barrels? How do i tell them apart?

2. How the hell do those guys on youtube pull this off?YouTube - VFC 416D final water test
I fell into a rivene one time and my gun worked for a while till it seased up.

3. this is unrelated but a crane stock holding 9.6 1700mah battery can easily pull off a M120 with ease?

the difference between the D and DX is simply the ability to swap out different barrel lengths on the DX. i believe that the 9.6 volt battery should have no problem with an M120. Even an 8.4 should be ok i think.

A word of caution. i have heard many complaints about the internals of the VFC HK 416. here are some "reviews" on the guns. some of them are actually informative... others, not so much:

hope that helps

Be advised I suggest you look into Kingarms New Hk416 Metal body. VFC Hk416 internals are not that great, and if you decided to use a different V2 gearbox you'll lose the bolt catch function.

With KingArms 416 body you can retain bolt catch function while having aftermarket gearbox such as Systema V2 and easy disassemble into 2-piece.

The body,

Here what I mean by 2 piece.

Sadly, there haven't been aftermarket part for the 416 monolithic rail but maybe someday. Maybe Troy Mono rail?

And I do believe you'll nerf the Hk416 anyways to your liking like all AR-lovers.

Only things I didn't like about the 416 was the wobbly stock, clear hopup chamber and 'custom' V2 gearbox.

Its a V2 mechbox, sooo.... that means i can leave the "custom" mechbox in and still add my own internals right? or they they interfere with the bolt catch?

Does anyone know how well the bolt catch works? theres a video on you tube showing how to fix this problem...

I don't know how good their gearbox shells are, but as long as you keep it under 350fps with a 'silent' piston head you should have no problems!

I don't know about some of those online reviews, I mean look at this one.

Obviously written by a crazy man who may not actually own the item in question.

The VFC's seem to reveiw very well on Arnies, and those folks take so many pictures it's hard to say it's a joke or smear reveiw from a bitter cheese eater.

Maybe he just got a bad one? Some CA guns last a year, some last 50 rounds...
Any experienced airsofter knows you have to replace a few parts in ANY gun before it can be deemed reliable. I buy my guns for their bodies, not their internals, figure I'm replacing them all anyways

I love my HK416, but as for the internals I have no clue as mine was all swapped out with Systema, ect... internals before it was ever fired. The barrels just screw off and on like the muzzle. The 10.5, inch is the audible size, you then add the extra barrel to get to the 14.5, and in my case I have the hurricane 16inch barrel aswell. If you connect the 14.5 to the 16 and then a suppressor you get a loooong snipper look, LOL looks a lil funny for and armalite weapon to be that long. The stock I have is the Hurricane HK417 Stock which holds a 9.6 4200 MAH NIMH battery. I would recomend the stock in a heart beat... no wobble when the battery is instaled. The bolt release dosent work as of now but I will get it corrected soon. its just a matter of figureing out exactly what to do.
