Lightbulb Masada battery stock mod

Friend of mine wanted to run 7.4 lipo sticks in his masada, and of course rear wiring is always better
So here we go, laid out the plan in sharpie inside the stock, and using nothing but a wood chisel, carved out a pleasant cavity and top slot for the lipo!
Finished off by modding the cheek rest, carving a bit of the material out in the non-locked position. When unlocked, the cheek rest pops off, and is solid when locked forward.
Unfortunately although the stock may be able to HOLD an 11.1v lipo, I'd have to carve way too much material off the top to make it work. However the 7.4 fits perfectly, as you can see I shaved the top of the stock right flush with the inner wall.
Haven't wires it yet, waiting for a mosfet to be installed.
However the mod is pretty well complete, I may make a channel below the wire hole going to the receiver to make attaching the stock easier (it attaches to the receiver by sliding down)

The hole through the stock is for a bolt, it's 80% covered by the cheek rest so not really concerned about the cosmetic effect.
The wire hole to the receiver is just above the lower bolt, hard to see from the pic, but there's a small carved channel there.

Update; there's room for a 7.4v 1200mah stick, fairly sizable double siren lipo alarm, and a small simple mosfet in the stock!

Just curious since just got mine, how do you feel about running a Lipo in the Masada?

Great, considering it's not mine LOL
Due to it having a microswitch, you can't run a mosfet, which sucks. But LiPo is the only thing with enough energy density to use in the tiny battery storage areas.
I would feel better if this one had a high quality microswitch that could handle being used with a mosfet. But it's only a 7.4v anyway

Can't you still run a simple/protect-your-wiring FET with a microswitch trigger? I though it was just AB fets that you couldn't use

Actually I do believe you are right with that one!
But since he's only running a 7.4, there's no real NEED for it, but it would definitely increase battery efficiency.
For the record, there's about enough room for a full size SW-COMP beneath the battery. So plenty of room for a mosfet

I have a question and don't mean to be offensive.. but if you want to fit a lipo in the Masada, can't you just put it in the hand guard? There is plenty of space as well for a FET if you take out the fake gas tube as I did.

Sure you Can, But why? This is cleaner and easier.

It's actually my gun.
But seeing as how I have the CNC'd metal hand guard, which does not split easy and has not front protection, the battery would be completely exposed.

I'm hoping but forgot to ask frank if an alarm can be fed in with the battery?
I'd like to run a Mosfet but I've heard the micro switch can fry even simple fets, since it flicks on and off so much. And the options out there right now to get it working is pretty expensive.

I prefer a clean look, Wasnt interested in a battery box. And this make's the gun seamless.

As soon as we figure out a trigger mod or mosfet combination which work's that will be done as well

Thanks Frank, Now I just need to figure out a way to get delivery lol.

EDIT:
To properly run a mosfet I'd have to run one of these along with it.

would have to be a REAL tiny alarm, might be easier to buy a good microswitch and run an SW-COMP that has low voltage protection. It's not like the cells ever get more than .05v out of balance anyway.

Also, there's room for a 7.4v 1200mah stick, fairly sizable double siren lipo alarm, and a small simple mosfet in the stock!

Upgrading the micro switch may be my next stop. I have computer controlled mos fets in stock sitting here. Just not way to reliable run it without purchasing another 60$ computer which I than also have to cram into the Gun.

It may be possible, I jsut don't have the cash to spend on yet another computer controller.

Although the nice thing about this setup, It's all but water proof
If I lock the cheek rest down, I shouldnt have a water/rain issue.

it'll get in through the split on the back of the cheek rest, you'll have to give it a wrap of plastic wrap
not worried about the battery getting wet, just the electronics
