Tokyo Marui H&K G3-SG1 AEG $300 USD?

EDIT: A separate dealer residing IN Canada was selling that MP5

EDIT2: Scratch the whole G3SG1 deal, it's from the US.

To begin with I'm relatively new to the community and to the whole airsoft sport itself.

I was looking around the forums and in the FAQ section someone recommended to get a G3-SG1 as a starter's first gun. I actually like the build of the gun, and the size of it complements my body build. I reside in Toronto, and two days ago sent e-mails to two of the age verifiers so I may access the more "dangerous" parts of the forums.

Haven't gotten a reply yet, and just sent another e-mail to another verifier just a while ago. So instead of waiting for verification, I do a little search myself around the states and found a one-time-used Tokyo Marui H&K G3-SG1 AEG in almost mint condition for $300 USD (around $318 CDN).

In light of this discovery, I have a few questions following this:

First and foremost, is it worth it? I heard Tokyo Marui to airsoft guns was like Porsche to cars. But for its model type, shipping costs (not included), condition and other "ordering over the internet discrepancies" is the cost worth the trouble?

If not (or even if so, tell me regardless), where would I find a better deal online? (Doesn't HAVE to be Tokyo Marui, I believe as a beginner I shouldn't be shelling out bucks for a gun like that anyways).

As well, another classified's (craigslist) dealer is selling a CM.023 MP5 for $105 with S/H included, again, is it a good starter's weapon and is it worth it?

I've read many posts on this forum, but none of them gave me a good "idea" how to match quality and price together.

Thanks in advance to everyone who replies,

Joseph Wong

Another offer!

EDIT: Whoops I just found a great review @ http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...ght=ICS+AK-74M

Woo, someone offered me ICS AK-74M full metal AEG for sale.

Anyone own one of these and can tell me the pros and cons of this airsoft gun?

Did this person PM you on ASC to ask?

I suggest getting age verified and checking out the classifieds here. It also greatly reduces the chance you'll have a bad deal.

My opinion:
-Buy only TM (maybe CA/ICS if you're feeling lucky)
-At that price you got quoted, Id prefer to buy locally (if it was around $200 then Id take a chance of border seizure)
-Wait til you can see buy/sell... you can get a deal (i got an almost new AUG kit for $300)

Recently sent an ASC PM to Albert (Redneck) - ASC Private Message

True that, but I take heavy precautions whenever I deal online. Most of the time I just force them to turn it into an Ebay listing and double-check their feedback.

I just got a TM G3 SG1. I've only played one game with it, but so far, I'm rather impressed with the gun. If you can get it for 300$, I'd say give 'er.

Thanks for your opinion, I'll keep those in mind.

Is CA/ICS really that bad?

Because airsoft replicas are so hard to come by in Canada, and suffer tedious importation paperwork, the prices will be significantly higher in Canada. To expect to pay $300CAD (or even $400) for a TM G3 SG1 in working condition... well, you'd be pretty lucky to find one.

Not bad. Some people love them. I prefer to avoid since they dont match TM quality.

TM G3 for around $300CDN is a steal. If I had the money though, I'd buy a CA G3. They're more than worth what little risk of poorer assembly, IMO.

At a $300 budget, it will be hard to find a really good used gun that doesn't require at least several hours and a few bucks in parts and labour. That said, some options (like Chinese clone guns by CYMA or Jin Gong) would be your best bet.

That can be found in the buy & sell part of the forum, but as stated earlier, you have to get yourself age verified to access that.

Another option is buying online. Sidney I. Robinson Sporting Goods in Winnipeg sells the CYMA AK47 (model CM-028s) (albiet with a clear plastic body and gas tube) for under $270 - get age verified and you can pick up a TM body and gas tube for under $50 in the buy + sell, or you can simply spraypaint the clear stuff (on the INSIDE, not the OUTSIDE) with flat black Krylon spray paint.

ICS AKs are damn awesome, full metal, field strippable goodness. Especially the new versions with the Turbo3000 motor and that are internally preupgraded from factory.

I suggest you grab the ICS. Dont expect to get it for $300 though.

Ive already bought 2 TM shotgun setups, and a full CA MP5 setup (3 hicaps, battery, sling) all for under $200 on these boards, in addition to getting an barely touched TM AUG setup for $300. All of these guns worked and had minor exterior damage; only one of the shotguns crapped out after 5 games and I sold it for almost what I paid for.

Get age verified and be patient when buying. You just need to look out and bargain a bit with sellers. You can get a good local deal.. even cheaper than what you'd paid from US
