Need some input guys....

Hey guys,

I have been reading everything and anything on here and there and everywhere.
I'm stuck right now and I need some solid input from you guys. I have been researching A LOT for the right primary gun. I am really having difficulty choosing, even based on what I have read up on each gun.

That said, is why I am writing this post. Of course ultimately I would love to snag one of the Systema PTW's but thats not going to happen right away (married , and want to stay that way) So Ive got down to a few guns I really like as far as appearance and performance. There are a few things Im after here and I would appreciate and value your guys input. I am after, Reliability,Durability,Upgradability and what ever else comes to mind and whatever input I receive from you will help me in making the final decision. Roughly the guns ive posted are the price range I have selected.

Ok there you have it. I am concerned with quality fit and finish I would prefer metal over plastic hands down. Although I know there is metal and plastic in some of these. Personal experience and opinions on these guns from owners and those that have used these are more then welcome. One thing I ask though, is please dont refer to any of them as POS's because it doesnt help me much making an informed decision and opinions vary from person to person. Also if you have recommendations on certain guns, please feel free to share them.

Sorry for being long winded with this, but I have been readin for weeks on end and I need some first hand opinions and knowlegde thrown my way. And dont worry about "spoon feeding" me either. If you have a great link I WILL read it. Thanks guys for your time. Look forward to getting to know you all more as I jump into the world of airsoft.

Well, for what it is worth, you are a 1/3 of the way there for a PTW.

Still, can't hurt to have two guns down the road. Though I love TM, they really are a money dump to get up to full metal and up'd internals (Spent a PTW value to get one where I wanted it, and still not satisfied).

the 416 is solid, stock wobbles a bit more than usual, don't know about the internals, not a big fan of the hopup unit

the TM is great to start off, plastic body but excellent internals, if you decide to go metal body, buy a new gun.

G&P guns aren't for saving money, it's more of a veteran airsofter gun, they have some of the best metal bodies, but you need to shim the gearbox before using the gun, the internals are strong if they're installed properly, a few things like the piston head and spring guide need to be replaced, and I haven't seen a single M4 come with the spring on the hopup unit that keeps it pressed against the mechbox (without it your hopup is on and off at random)

Well, ill tell ya. Im a new buyer, just got my first gun and probably went through what you did, constant research. Anyways, i bought a CA m15a4 Spc. I love it, came full metal and after I popped in a M120 spring and tightbore barrel. Yikes, good times. I was at a local field today and shot a TM SG-1, and it was hard to hold after my full metal, it almost felt toyish. But you do pay the price for full metal. My Rifle was worth $720ish from A&A...and after some $90 upgrades, plus spare mag and battery and tax, shipping ect....I think im in the $1100 range. And it was worth every penny, its rock solid, I can upgrade like nuts, and it has a full stock for a nice battery. G&P seems great for what you get, I might have gone that way had I done it all over again. But, far as ive seen I really made the right choice, go big on your first one if you can afford it. You wont be dissapointed.

Thanks for the help guys. Im 99% sure of going with the G&P M4 Special Force.
Im already looking/pricing upgrade parts as well for it. By the time all is said and done I should have a decent primary gun and still be well under what a bare Systema would be, granted I realize its a Systema but I am married and want to keep it that way. Again, thank for your input guys.

you'll want (for sure) piston head, shims and cylinder head (systema silent head sets are great
