WE M14 wood stock fitting advice

Im calling out to those that have fitted a wood stock to a WE M14. Recently purchased a Norinco M14 stock off the classified.

From what I read fitting a wood stock only is supposed to take some minor dremeling, but on mine it seems i need to completely dremel out the inside since i cant even fit the gas system.

Id rather not butcher a perfectly good stock, but I want to know if this is normal to have to modify or not.

Seems like an awful lot to dremel...far from "minor" in my books
