Full Magpul zhuckov convertion on airsoft AK

Hi everyone

I'm trying to do a full conversion of an old CYMA CM-031 I got a while back. Problem ? found out it's a total piece of junk. The stock as no fitting for the zhukov stock nor the space in the receiver, except if I cut everything which is way to much trouble. Second the hand guard are a such a pain to remove, there are still things that won't fit the magpul handguard and the ultimak rail.

Is there out there an airsoft ak-74 that doesn't have the battery in the stock and will fit the stock ? i searched every where but couldn't find anything about ak fitting ... :banghead:

You'll need an AK with a side folding stock in order to attach a magpul folding stock to it. An AKs-74 or an AK74m, AK104, AK105, or even an AKs-74u will work.

you sure though ? from the install vid i've seen on the real deal. They need the part that attach to the orginal wood or polymer stock ?

Normally aftermarket AK folding stocks require a side-folding receiver. If it requires the stock tang, then the issue is probably the fact that you have a CYMA receiver that isn't to spec. Something like an LCT or an E&L will have a more accurate stock tang.

The zhukov stock does not under any circumstances require a folding trunnion. The folding mechanism is part of the stock itself.
The regular version is supposed to fit Warsaw Pact and Chinese *fixed* stock trunnions, the Yugo version obviously is meant for Yugo fixed trunnions.

If you are trying to fit a real stock on a airsoft gun you need lots of patience and be friends with a file, airsoft AEGs are generally not 1:1.

Exceptions to that rule would be the Realsword type 56 (MAK-90) and CTW AKM.

You might have more luck with a GHK AKM.

Some of the CYMA Aks even still use Type 3 AK-47 Style Stock Trunnion instead of the AKM/74 Style.
