No, airsoft isn't played "competitively". It's about playing to have fun, not to keep track of your winnings. There're no leagues, no ranking.

Well..... I mean there is CAPS but that's about as far as it goes for competition.

It's like playing recball, you do play to "win" but at the end of the day it's all about having fun, trading plastic with people.

As in tourneys? If that is your question, then maybe. Almost completely it is played by a group of people who know eachother on a part time basis for fun and excercise.

Best way to get started........GO TO A GAME!!!!!

Not only will you learn a lot, but you'll get to check out all the other guys' cool guns, and maybe even try them out!

Some games you can even get AV'd at, so check out the threads for a game near you!

pabloski i feel like you would be buying this pistol for just shooting around at targets right?

If so you might as well buy an air gun if you're going to be practicing your shooting skills in your yard.

If you're looking to play the game we call airsoft then you should invest in an airsoft gun.

However I have an inkling that you just came here for information where to purchase a plinking gun...

First thing is how old you are. If you're 18+ then make arrangements to meet with an age verifier. You'll then have access to the classifieds and retailer sections of the forum where you'll have a cornucopia of guns available to you. And don't get airsoft guns from Cdn Tire or Walmart. Those are nothing but junk. The only worthy airsoft gun either of those places sell is the shotgun you can get at Walmart. It's clear plastic, but actually a damn decent performer for the money.

If you're under 18, then you shouldn't own air guns (pellet or airsoft) anyway.

As for a teacher, do a lot of reading on these forums. It's a goldmine of information.
