Hey from Sweeeeeeeden

Hello everyone!
My name's Anton, and I currently live in Sweden. I thought I'd stop by here because I'm planning on moving to Canada with my wife. Because honestly, Sweden is beginning to suck. So I'm at the moment in progress of taking a driver's license class 1 I think it's called over there? Called "C körkort" here, for trucks. So yes, I'm going to be a truck driver. :P So if someone knows someone who needs a driver, give me a shout. Otherwise I was planning on getting my own truck and freelancing, hope it will work out.

I haven't really read so many threads here on ASC yet, but I most definatly will. One question popped into my mind just recently though, I read one of the threads in which was stated that you could not import airsoft guns into Canada, is that so? Well, I could sell of my AK-47 and buy a new one in Canada, but I wouldn't want to give up my AKSU or M11A1. How about importing gear? That's no problem I suppose? Well, instead of asking more questions about it in this thread, I'll just do some forum searching.

Cheers!
Anton // Etaren

Hey there Anton. unfortunately the only way to get your other ones into canada is through a broker and that can cost as much as the AEG' themselves. You could try taking em apart and shipping them to yourself in Canada. I know some guys have doen this with some luck but I wouldn't count on it. Keep in touch and welcome to the forum.

You can ask one of the retailers at the top of the page to import your guns for you.

EDIT:I wouldn’t try taking them apart and shipping them to Canada because you still need a license to import some of the parts like the receiver into Canada. This should answer all your questions about importing http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=26773

It is possible to have your guns brought over. Contacting the retailers listed above is a good start. The retailers can use their brokerage firms to import your guns, but the cost may be prohibitive - on average in my experience, it will cost about $100-$150 CAD per gun to import.

Hey there man, good to hear your comin over to Canada.

Where abouts in Canada will you be moving?

As for the shipping/bringing the guns, yes deffinatley contact a broker and get some estimates, if the cost to bring them in outweighs thier sentimental value I think you know what to do, haha.

Well good luck with it all, and hope you enjoy Canada.

If you are looking for trucking work, Alberta would be a good place to start. The oilfields are booming and truckers are in short supply.

Well considering that you accquired your airsoft's in Sweden, I'm sure you got it much cheaper than we would have gotten them, and if you've invested alot into it you should just contact a broker like everyone else has said, cause an additional $150 or so isn't that big of a deal. Cause if you sell your guns in Sweden you'll have lost money selling it and than having to buy new ones here for a higher price and than upgrading them, it wouldn't be worth it. But good luck to it all. That's my two cents

**takes a big wiff**

Yep... smells like its going to be FRESH too :P....

First to answer your question on looking for employers. Try some of the long haulers like Manitoulin. OR if your really looking for a good salary on that try RTL in the arctic, the down side is there are lots of hours and lots of cold nights. The Upside get a good deal of money for driving up there and all you gotta do is drive, nothing else.

Second, at the costs of brokering it in, or getting one of the local retailers to import it for ya. I'd probably suggest parting with em and buying brand new ones. But then they prob mean something to ya.
