Shipping Using UPS

I was wondering if anyone had problems recieving shipments form abroad using ups? An inner barrel and replica IBA i ordered form UNcompany have cleard through customs but ups says that the shipment needs to be processed because it contains a restricted commodity. Has this happened to anyone else?

The thing is that the ups online tracking says that it has already cleared canadian customs.

Just wait it out, call them again tomorrow for a status update. The previous thread I read it on, said the package got returned to sender rather than seized.

BTW, what IBA did you order?

I mistakenly used UPS instead of DHL on my last order from UNcompany. Huge hassle about what was in the package and what it was worth (box mag, inner barrel, hup-up rubber). finally got released about 5 days late. DHL has always been cool about getting stuff in but I really hate that they don't have an account i can pay instead of waiting at my door with a cheque or driving an hour to their depot in the middle of nowhere. I still take DHL over ups for being a general pain in the ass to deal with.

Thanks for your input guys. There was a little mixup with me an UNcompany and they ended up shipping with ups (not my first choice). Next time I will make sure its DHL.

BTW Phenom, I order the Swat IBA with the neck and groin protector.

I purchased some things from UNCompany last month. My bill came to $180. I had heard all the horror stories about the UPS brokerage fees, but forgot to specifically request that UPS not be used. The package came less than a week later. $0 brokerage fees. I guess for 100 horror stories, there is at least one happy ending. Mind you I will never ship UPS again. Not worth the risk

You get charged brokerage fees by UPS DEPENDING on the service you use. If you ship via standard ground or air service, then yes - you will pay brokerage fees. But UNCompany (and WGC) typically ship via UPS Worldwide Express or Expedited - the shipping fees quoted to you ALREADY include brokerage fees. The only extra you would have to pay on top of those shipping fees are the taxes, duties and brokerage GST required.

Good to know. And I just thought I got off lucky. Of note though, I was only charged tax, no duties. I'm not complaining!

Well, regarding DHL... They "LOST" a real steel SPR upper. They have no idea where it went. Ya! Right!

I told UPS that I refused the shipment contacted the US Co. I sent them the $# of what UPS and CRA wanted from me and had them re-ship correctly. Long live Canada Post.

I feel your pain.
