Low profile hydration systems

Hey all

I'm currently redoing my rigs and will be using a LBT 6094 Slick as a base. I'm currently seeking a low profile stand alone hydration system to put onto the back of the slick so that i've got hydration between the various rigs
(Currently rifleman Slick + LBT 2586J, Saw Slick + H Harness)

So far i've only been able to really find two that may match my needs.
What i'm seeking is
- Low profile
- Able to integrate into molle
- Lightweight (Around 1-1.5L as I'll have a pack as well with additional hydration)

First is the Source Kangroo 1L
http://source-military.com/hydration...ith-pouch.html

It appears to be a decent standalone system, however from the pictures i've been able to dig up when it's fully filled it takes more of a shape of a canteen. The 1L is designed more for a canteen pouch it appears so it may not fit as flat as I'd like.

I do like though the ability of the source bladders to be refilled without having to take off anything (Check it out it's actually pretty slick UTA - YouTube)

Second choice i've been able to dig up
Camelback Pakteen
http://www.camelbak.com/Military-Tac...s/Pakteen.aspx

- Fits the size requirements so far
- Would have to take off to refill though.
- Only in black?

So are those my seemingly only options? Are there maybe other pouches/bladder options i'm missing?

Have you considered the SKD PIG Hydration Carrier?

It compresses to a flatter shape than normal. And just because it holds 2L doesn't mean you actually have to put 2L

I'm also looking for a similar solution.

I have the .75L Source, it's a T&E version with the prototype LBT carrier, things may have changed a bit in the final production. The fill cap sticks out a fair amount, it you're trying to go thin, then this might not be the best solution for you, if you're mounting high up on your back.

My gerber pack demonstrated the folly of large fill caps, it would constantly clip on small openings when I would bend down just for my body, but then start straightening to take proper strides.

What I'm waiting for is the Camelbak Antidote bladder with the mil-spec technology, it's been announced, but I am expecting sales to start in January after SHOT.

I have an older version of one of these. No loops on mine.

The straps pack away and I hook it onto multiple rigs with grimlocks. It's smooth and doesn't hang up. You can fill the bladder without removing it from the pack.

The 2L source I'm using is excellent. Does all the marketing claims it does. I do get a fair bit of air from the twist&bite valve. ITS Tactical has a nice vid review of it.

I usually run it in a maxpedition pack...so can't help with the carrier.

With a Plate Carrier weight matters less (especially if you wear plates which will distribute the weight better). Like I don't even notice my 2L source on my back even in full sprint.

Thanks for the suggestions. That SKD Pig looks like an interesting solution, coupled with a 2L source bladder it might fit my needs. Might not fill it all the way to save space/weight.

Any info on the Camelbak milspec? I tried looking around but only found some posters regarding the USMC adopting camelbak.

The SKD PIG Hydration carrier is great, I have 2, one on my CIRAS and another on my 6094a. What I like most is that it doesn't stick out too much when there's a bladder in it.

Pic Here

It doesn't list the features, but the milspec one has more than the commercial versions. I know there was enough additional features to make it desirable for me, especially how I've messed up bladders in the past.
