G36C Picatinny Question

Not sure if I spelled "Picatinny" right. But w/e.

I have a G36C made by Jing Gong. My question is if there are bottom rail kits or do I have to get a whole fully railed handguard?

I want to put a vertical grip close to the mag, but the bottom rail only goes halfway from the front and I find that it's uncomfortable to hold a vertical grip like that.

All useful input is appreciated. Thnx in advanced!~

Airsoft Park had some G36C rail kits, last time I was browsing on there.

Thanks for the input. I think that I'll go with a rail kit because I'm not sure if what COL.TIKER suggested is actually long enough. To me, it doesn't look long enough to be within 3 inches of the mag.

If you don't like an RIS/RAS, you can just do what I did for my SIG. Get a really long rail (10 CM) and just drill a hole into the handguard to mount the other screw properly. It'll look just fine. Of course, I'm not familiar with how the handguard works on a G36, but on a SIG you can pop them off to do the work. I had to clear up that much real estate for a shotgun under my rifle. If you just want a grip, you can get a tiny rail and just put in screw holes where you want to put the rail.

That might actually work. on that note, why not just transplant the original rail further back?

I'm going to go try that now. Thanks for the advice!

Transplanting the rail would work in your case as well. In fact, it might even look better than having two small rails. For my part, the dinky little rail on the SIG just wasn't big enough for a shotgun.

I wanted the same thing as you before too, trying to move the grip back more. This is what I got.

Sorry, I don't have a picture of the final product but it'll bring the grip close enough. Any closer, you might as well hold the magwell.

Or you could get them all in full size:

In the end, I ended up doing this:

You'll notice that my grip is not that far back, that's because I realized I needed to change the way I grip the front of the gun. Now, I have a Magpul AFG and I wrap my left hand around the hand guard. It might not be as comfortable because the left arm is stretched out more, but it gives me great, precise control.

What I ended doing was taking the original G36C rail and transplanting it onto the reare of the handguard.

The rail is held in by two screws, so i put the front screw in the back hole.

The best part is that since the G36 rail also has this part that basically holds it in place. When I get home I'll post a pic for better un.derstanding....

Once again, I do not know the name of that part...so....

The part I am referring to is at the front (on the left side) of the Picatinny rail. It basically conforms to the shape of the handguard on the inside of it so it keeps the rail from turning. Kind of hard to understand, but there it is.
