I'm using the same pair of insoles I use for my other boots, I can't recall the name of them, but the top is lime green and they're made of white foam stuff, they're nice because they do wonders for support, but they don't take up much room, I got them at Athlete's World. I'll check the name tomorrow.

I loath the issued socks. if I have to I wear the green liners with the green socks and even then that's extremely rare these days.
I wear alot of wigwams in the winter time, and fox river in the summer.
as well; mkIII are garbage. at least attempt to get a vibram sole chit, your feet will thank you.
you don't need a liner if you're wearing a good pair of socks. I'll wear a liner sock (the black issued one works good for me) when I'm wearing mukluks, but other then that. spend the extra money and get the socks I mentioned.
alot of people I know also use athletic socks under their army socks; maybe you'd want to try that as well?

Fox River socks kick ass. But my feet are big enough that they stretch the XL socks and liners nice and snug, they're mega comfy and they don't chafe. I'm looking at getting my MK3s resoled before I go away for the summer on course....

Oh, and from last night (I was exhausted and mildly intoxicated... Yay Officers Christmas Mess) the insoles say "tensecond.com" on the bottom... I assume that's the brand. They're nice though, I've been using them for a year now.

I've got those.
I like em, I've been trying out different types of foot soles the last while to see what's the best out there. so far the best have been those green insoles that has the arch support in it.

I would if I had any mkIII's that fit me. that's how long it's been since I've worn em.
plus I'm on my x-mas leave, and they're up in pet

Sorry fellas, I know I'm hopping on this one a bit late. AFAIK CoolMax is just a brand name for Polypro that feels a bit more like cotton. You can also use silk sock liners, I've had good luck with them, but make sure you use a bit thicker outer sock with the silk ones, because they'll wear away faster. I don't buy a lot of "hi-speed" socks, mainly just a good pair of Merino wool or Smart wool. They've always done me pretty good as a hiker, but I'm not in the military yet and my socks don't look like military issued socks... So hopefully I could be of SOME use.

Dude, you don't get any higher speed than smart wool. Comfiest damn socks I've ever worn.

I use the same socks as I wear when snowboarding "Hot Chillies", you can find them at most highend sport and apparel shops. Just ask for "Hot Chillies"... They don't come cheap, but they have 0% cotton.
