Where's your logic in that? If he sells his gun at $200 when it usually goes for $400, then whoever buys it got a great deal. It's just a one time deal. No ones says that a buyer has to post a certain price for his goods. If he puts it too high, it might not sell. It's up to the seller to post his price and for the buyer to be educated enough to know what is a reasonable price for it.
This rule also helps the seller to give a price instead of asking I don't know how much to ask for this gun. He now can do a search and see the price range that similar guns sold for.
