I would stress that HFC is a good starter to see if you enjoy using sidearms as they do not cost a lot and there are parts for it if it breaks. But definitely the quality control is random mainly due to leaky mags or parts breaking over time.

If you have more money to spend and know you are a dedicated Pistol user then you should get the TM as they are great guns, and they can be upgraded while the HFC only has replacement parts but no real upgrades. The one thing you have to watch out for when upgrading a TM is the metal slide, if you chose the wrong metal slide to outer barrel match you can end up damaging your gun in the long run.

I've seen myself grow from a springer as a kid to HFC to a TM and now Western Arms, over time your arsenal will grow more expensive but more sophisticated provided you are crazy for Airsoft
