Sounds like you need to call them up again and complain until you get something free. I would. Especially when an employee tells you something has shipped when it hasn't. If it is still sitting there, then you should get some sort of compensation as that business lied to you.
Or it could be stuck in Canada post hell. Working in a position that had items shipped frequently I can tell you that sometimes shipping items doesn't make sense. Seriously one item could ship easily, the other takes a fucking circle tour to PEI first.
