Basically the more amperage you're pushing to the battery the hotter it should get. Don't charge at too high of an amperage or you can damage the battery.
the battery was a
class 2 battery charger
input:100-240v~50/60hz max:0.2a
output:8.4v/9.6v 0.6a

should i be worried now?

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
