That's because you've never imported an airgun.

Just because its legal doesn't mean it comes in without a hitch, and I know of several people who imported airguns which got seized anyway (despite the same model being sold at various sporting goods stores). Then its the same hassle as with airsoft, getting it tested at your own cost and MAYBE seeing your gun a few months or a year down the road.
