A 9.6v would be really tight in a normal MP5 handguard, but in an SD handguard there should be a lot of room.

And no I wouldn't recommend trying to rewire your gun if you haven't even opened it up yet.
You can try to find a gundoc in your area, or mail it to me for a rewire/reshim/upgrade, etc
I'll keep that in mind! Thank you very much, you have been very helpful. All this headache could be solved if what I heard was true. According to , they told me in a few weeks that CAS was coming out with a new MP5 SD6:

"Well your in luck!
CAS Just came out with the SD6 retractable stock.
The price on that item is: $360. +$10 shipping in Ontario or $15 outside Ontario.
This option is much cheaper then buying a different stock around $70 or so..."

But I don't know whether or not they are reputable, CAS doesn't have anything about any new airsoft on their site, he told me this at Wed, 23 Sep 2009 04:26:40.
