I'd like to make the obvious statement here:
Ounces become pounds, the more you're carrying on you for the game day, the quicker you will expire. Carrying things like extra socks on you while playing is just going to weigh you down. You may laugh, but if you added up all the "extra, in case" items on your kit, and weighed them, it might turn out to be more than you thought.
By all means, bring things like that to the game day, and have them in your pack at the safe zone... but I don't recommend bringing things into the field which you're going to have to go out of game to use anyways.
