Classifieds rules update
Updates to the classifieds rules have been posted. Be aware or be sorry.
Une mise-Ã*-jour des règles pour les petites annonces a été posté: prenez le temps de lire les règles. |
Since I didn't know the rules by heart before...What was changed?
|
there short may as well just read em.

I believe one thing that changed is that you cannot post until 7 days is up. This is now software controlled and the site won't allow you to post until the 7 days is up.
I hope lots of people read it and see that you should not remove the price when the item is sold. |
Most recent rule is rule number 5
|
hopefully rule 3 will be enforced a bit more strictly. i cant tell you how much it pisses me off when i go back to get the price on something and someone just replaced it with **SOLD**

The rules are there for a reason. The post dosent "die" when the sale is done. Some of us use this info for research and such. |

And thank you Bean for the answer to my question. |

elitist doesnt give a f*** about 3rd rule , i swear to god.

The problem i think is, because elitist doesnt want any record/history of how much they sold the guns for. So they usually like to replace with a banana / sold. Plus being elitists, usually makes you think "I do not need to read the rules".
Just my thought. |
I'm confused about why this is being blamed on elitist attitudes? It bugs the crap out of me when people edit out their prices, but I've never associated it with an elitist attitude.
|
I agree that the seller should not remove the price he was asking for when an item is sold but that doesn't mean that the price they have listed is what the item(s) sold for. He could have something listed for $500 but if he took less... you will never know what the item really sold for. So, just remember that it's the asking price... not the sold price.
|
I don't get this "Elitist"crap either. I just go through the current
for sale threads to judge on prices,as Leecas says, the actual sold price could be different. So after it is sold,it may not be accurate. |
This needs a bump.
Some guys have 3 or 4 threads for guns that were started after this thread was posted. Read the rules people! |
MODS! Go forth and slay these heathens!
|
|
Is it just me, but recently in the "fs/ft" section of the classifieds there is 4+ Wanted adds.
Fucking annoying. Not to beet on anyones head aside from the folks who post these wanted adds. |

The mods can't sit and stare at the screen all day, we have a part to play in moderation too... |
Speaking of changes/threads in the classifieds, just curious to know if I'm the only one that can't post a reply to someone's thread by clicking the post reply button....
|
I seem to have found a flaw in the software limiting bumping. I recently edited my thread (added what I would accept for trades) and was not able to bump my thread for a week. Editing the thread does not bump it. Can someone look into this?

I understand that but when I edited my post it didn't bump it.

Editing to bump WOULD be a flaw, not the opposite. |

I think he is saying that it was counted as a bump by the software and stopped him from actually bumping for an extra week.
|
exactly
|
edited my thread then went to bump and was not able.
the edit was counted as a bump without actually bumping the thread. |
Ahh, that makes more sense. Does sound like something's broken now, sorry for not understanding right the first time!

You may have bumped slightly early; the system counts the delay between bumps in minutes (7 full days' worth). |
Was a few days overdue on bumping.
I don't care that I wasn't able to bump, just pointing out an issue I found with the automated system. |

Am I right? |

So, in the end, it sounds like the system was working exactly as it should. When we did allow early bumping, you have no idea how many guys abused this. They would make bumps every 4 hours to add the smallest little details, with the excuse that the updates were deemed important and necessary. |
Illusion you are correct except about bumping before my 1 week wait. I was 1 day overdue on bumping and should have been able to bump.
I'll try again after my next bump due date to make sure I am indeed past the 7 day time limit. |

You might be surprised at how many people are actually able to work out a FULL 7 days from their last post. ie, if you made your last post at 10:51am on April 23rd, you CANNOT make another post until a full 8 days after that. That means, that you CANNOT make a bump at 4:22am, 6:43am, 8:18am, or even 10:50am. Until 10:51am hits, it's NOT a full 7 days passed and you are in to the 8th day. And... looking at your sales thread, that's exactly what happened. You were 10 hours too early, my friend. There is nothing wrong with the system, it's working exactly as designed. Case closed. |
would be nice if there was a regional filter added to the classified search or even tagged to beginning of the post title
