Lest we forget.

While we shoot our freinds
They shoot the enemy...

While we raise our hand and respawn
Many of them do not...

While we have a safety zone
They're always in harms way...

While we load the BBs in to our mags
They load Lead in to theirs...

While we come home after a battle
Some of them do not...

While many of us bare their uniforms
they have earned theirs...

While we are playing
They are praying...

God bless all who are over there, all who have been over there and also to those who are going there, I know there are many CF on these forums
my heart goes out to you ladies and gentlemen because you are some of the bravest men and women this world has ever known.

From the beaches of Juno
To Kandahar Airfield

I bare my Poppie.

YouTube- Green Fields of France

I always liked the poppies with the green center. Why did they switch to black?

L473ncy November 8th, 2009 13:04

Because that's what the poppy is supposed to look like. AFAIK there are no such things as a poppy with a green centre (although I'm pretty partial to the "Tomato poppy" myself, reminds me of when I was young and in elementary and life was carefree).

Even though I don't have a car I'm still hoping to make it out to the downtown remembrance day ceremony one way or another, probably with a friend. (even if that means I have to walk).

thank you Canada.

All give some, and some gave all!
Rest in Peace Brothers!

Whatever the colour, I'll always wear my poppy with pride, but I will say that I prefer the black, it just seems more appropriate as the colour of mourning. Also, just be glad we don't wear the British cardboard ones. I remember my British friends on base would always ask me to trade poppies lol.

when I was selling poppies with cadets, we had a guy walk up and put a $100 bill into both boxes, took his poppy and walked away.

Depends. I prefer giving only a 2$ but wearing it with pride the whole month than not wearing any at all. Most people at school and where I go don't wear it, so just having it in their face sometimes remind them the men and women that served, and that currently serve. Or, at least, that's what I hope.

Of course, if you can give more, do it.

Today before our game the Barrie players stop everything and had a moment of silence, God bless all members of our forces past, present, and future.
